Christianity doesn't just come in and intensify the values it is the whole foundation for them in the first place. I would never give any impression that because one is a Christian one has a particular political faith. Although I myself think Marxism and Christianity are not compatible because Marxism is the elevation of the state, and all rights come from the state. I believe they don't.

Sadly, can’t clip the entire podcast Jeremy Boreing did with Dan Burmawi but this five minutes talks about the near erasure of Christianity in the Middle East done in the name of Islam. I urge everyone to watch the full two hours if you want to understand why you see what you see and what the way forward is. One of the most important episodes I have seen and this is a topic I spend a lot of time in.

Yesterday I was found to have “incited hatred”. I walked out of that decision disturbed not just for myself, but for what it means for freedom of political speech in Australia. This was never about attacking a religion. It was about political advocacy, about speaking out against injustice, and about a movement built on peace, equality and humanity. If political criticism can be redefined as hate depending on who interprets it, then every protest movement in this country should be paying attention. I will be appealing. Not because this is about me alone, but because the precedent this creates affects everyone who believes in the right to speak out.
