merc - doesn't 2021 eth rally causes BTC dominance to drop rather than the other way around? or rather they are the same but how do you establish cause/effect?

well yeah, it does I didn’t mean to make it seem like ETH was rallying BECAUSE of BTC.D momentum. it’s more like they’re correlated to some (usually large) degree it’s something we tend to see at the same time, because ETH strength is the greatest proxy for general altcoin market strength, in my humble opinion which fits hand in hand with what we’ve seen the past 2 years, and also what BTC.D has implied in that time
