His jumping style is awkward, but the problem is he guessed wrong. Almost 99.99% time a gk can't go the other direction once he jumps.

My guess is it’s what shorter goalkeepers often do to have any chance reaching the corners Hence why the Donnarummas/Martinez are so good at penalties. They can afford to stall and wait for the taker to make the initial move before committing to a side.
