Amazing how greedy and uninventive Apple became.

As an engineer, I saw it in the '90s. Apple deliberately broke IBM compatibility and locked data into proprietary formats. Smartphones turned the trap into a cage. Their users aren't loyal—they're hostages with Stockholm Syndrome. That's not innovation. It's isolation by design.

@RealJamesWoods Companies that move their products to a subscription models are the absolute worst. As customer I don't want to perpetually pay for a product. I want to pay for it once, and that be it. Paying rent for a product I bought sucks. It needs to stop!

“Innovation” has very little to do with new technology. It has a lot to do with new ways to fleece consumers.

This is the real cost of removing the jack. No big deal.

I hope @ElonMusk and SpaceX makes a phone. I would happily leave Apple and their BS business model.

It's not very comfortable to hold in my hand, but it's good to have my ports and external storage back.

Although not surprised by the greed considering the origin of their logo...

Apple always was greedy. I have boycotted Apple since they first came out with the Macintosh. No iPhone, either. It's IBM PC and Android for me.

Apple has innovated nothing since Steve Jobs died. Last great product was the iPhone 4 which he oversaw. Were he alive today, he’d love Tesla and detest Apple. Over the shark.

They have been over priced for a few decades. That is one of the main reasons I have never owned a Mac or iPhone.

Listening to this on my laptop with headphones with a jack (I have never owned wireless buds nor will I). I worked for IBM in the 80's when they had a huge anti-trust lawsuit bc you had to buy IBM accessories for their computers. And they lost. What happened to anti-trust?

Also these wireless earbuds are like sticking tiny microwaves in your ears next to your brain. 🧠

@clmuseum Over 20 years as a Detective/Investigator and I ran a multi agency law-enforcement task force. The old axiom of "always follow the money" Is actually true..........

What's meant by a "switching cost" if you leave Apple/iPhones? I did. They may've thrown in a "switching cost" surreptitiously somewhere that I'm not aware of. They are greedy, opportunistic bastards. And remember, headphones (with wires) used to come complementary with your new iPhone, and they lasted. Interesting video. I didn't know about the audio compression via Bluetooth.

This post is excellent but it leaves out the most important cost of forcing billions of people onto earbuds: radiation damage. And if the reports of frequency configuration are true, they will be able to program our tendencies, then our behaviors, and finally our personalities.

They need to put the Jack Back. And make charging ports that actually WORK. Let’s start the Jack back campaign James. 🫡

Overlooked in this clip is convenience sans corded options But impact of EMF radiation directly adjacent to your brain is quite concerning We need peer reviewed studies addressing long term effects on health Explaining why these aren't done is #followthemoney

Pretty much the way everything goes these days. Goods and services have become half the fun for twice the cost.

I've always been a Droid enthusiast while my brother's family are all about Apple. My big problem with Apple is they came out pretending like they were going against the man back then it was IBM and then they became the man. Suing every developer, phone manufacturer for fake patent infringements. I always mocked the updates to the phones each year. My youngest has to take all the pictures in their family because her husband has an Apple and she has a Pixel 10 🤣

I've heard women say "get your money up," or "no iphone, no date." My money is fine. I just didn’t blow it on 24 months of interest for a $1,400 iPhone made in Chinese sweatshops and marketed to the most emotional consumers alive. Nothing says 'high value' like paying interest on a phone that loses half its value in two years. I’ll pass. Stack real assets, not Apple margins.

Steve Jobs passed and the idiots took over.

I worked at Apple, on iPhone, for 11 years. The headphone jack was removed because it was a major point of failure on field returns.

Really annoying. I've got a very good set of travel headphones and there's no jack to plug them into my android phone. I don't want to go out and buy bluetooth ones or whatever, I want to use the ones I have. Bastards. Shits me the way they do this crap.

It's interesting, but it's past history 🥱 Both iPhones and Samsung new phones have switched to USB-C port, under a new EU regulation. So if you like to listen to high quality uncompressed music and don't mind the wire, get yourself a small adapter like this one.

Well, I bought adaptors for under $10 and use wired buds like always. Easy to do for those of use who prefer wired listening. Perhaps everyone should have invested in the adapter maker companies?

What this video left out was the RADIATION off the earphones your BRAIN SUCKS UP.

💯true. They have been riding Jobs and the iPhone for decades. You can just sense their AI will be shvt. Google, Open AI, Claude and @grok will own the space. Embarrassing for Apple to have Google under the hood. Same with Meta and Microsoft. AI must be hard to do.

In my opinion, Apple‘s been ripping people off since the beginning with the phone every six months the price is ridiculous. Meanwhile, you’re paying to be spied on

Not a surprise. They’re a greedy company. Thank you James for sharing. Very informative.

Steve Jobs was the creator, no one has matched him since his death.

Steve Jobs DIED and so did the INNOVATION at APPLE. All thanks to @tim_cook. Sure he is a financial guy who made the company BILLIONS. But a company will not survive LONG TERM w/o the INNOVATION that fueled Apple's success originally. Time for NEW BLOOD!

Yes. But the truth is, Microslop has taken such an utter shit, Apple and Linux FOSS are the only alternatives left for computing. For mobile, we're stuck with Apple or Google Android slop until someone invents a non-scammy FOSS mobile OS.
