There is NO good reason for any retail or consumer enterprise to continue to maintain operational centres in Quebec, or ANYWHERE in Canada for that matter. Unprofitability, tax burdens, sinking Canadian dollar and increased risks of more communism are just a few of the reasons.

Hope the workers are happy about their union deal now. Unions are great on paper and rarely can be great irl. But more often lately they seem to be a cancer to those they represent.

Holy crap, if they decided to do this for AWS - there goes the only Canadian presence. Quebec won b/c of cheap electricity. Every AZ for AWS went there. In my previous gig, I migrated the entire firm from on-prem data centres to the AWS. We could only do this because they were on our soil. The amount of red tape we had to jump (SOX, type1/type2) was brutal, though. If AWS leaves too, Canadian business are finished.

Being union is never worth it It protects the lazy & deadbeats & bankrupts companies Companies need 2 learn 2 B fair 2 keep employees & employees need 2 B responsible & respectful .. A company can only exist w/ dedicated employees but when they start wanting more 💣 💥

The US has been undergoing massive onshoring and reshoring for over a decade. Our government is trying to pitch the idea tariffs will harm American consumers. Tariffs will incentivize America to build their own companies using AI and robotics. It will be astounding.
