It's a part of the Rostec state corporation and completes contracts for the Russian Ministry of Defence, as well as other customers. The Pyroxylin powders produced are used for many different types of weapons, including artillery systems of all calibers and armor piercing sub-caliber rounds for tank artillery. The plant also produces certain brands of powders which are exclusively produced there for Russia. This plant was previously attacked in November 2023 and July 2024. Since the beginning of the war, and the expansion of Russia's military-industrial complex, the plant has undergone significant expansion and modernisation, with several new facilities being constructed, while others were upgraded to help serve significantly increasing demands. As a result of the strike, one UAV impacted one of the new facilities constructed after the beginning of the war.
