Amazon’s CEO makes at least $40.1 MILLION a year while the average Amazon worker makes less than $38k a year How is that pro-worker or pro-American? It’s time to put American workers FIRST

It is none of your business what a company pays their employees. Government shouldn't dictate pay. What is wrong is Congress getting paid when they don't pass a balanced budget.

Amazon employs 1.5 million people. If the CEO made $0 and gave it all to the workers, they would only get an extra $26 per year. Good CEO’s are worth every cent.

This is misguided populism and it’s wrong, and unAmerican. The CEO deserves whatever the market will pay for top talent, in a free society, as does a movie star or rock star or top basketball player, etc. Let’s get skills and wages up, but not by attacking talent and success.

How many jobs is he providing? 1.5 million. 40,000,000/1,500,000=26.667. So.. divide his paycheck evenly between all his employees and everybody gets less than $27 Brilliant. And we can disregard the possibility that if he’s not getting paid like that he shuts down the company. Suddenly, 1.5 million people are sucking money out of the economy. I don’t like Bezos or Amazon, but you are preaching stupidity.

Ok now you sound like AOC, with her Marxist rhetoric. It’s called a free market and Companies can negotiate whatever they want. But since your on the topic: Senators get a salary of $179K/year and have 215-220 Non Session days. In addition each Senator gets approximately $3-$4 million per year to cover expenses. Talk about Waste and abuse. Let’s not forget a pension after 5 years while the rest of us get a slap on the back and a Timex worth $50 for 20 years of service. Don’t throw stones in a glass house. While you’re at it, get these guys to cut the waste and engaging in insider trading.

Can you imagine what would happen to Amazon's stock if its CEO resigned? Amazon's market cap is $2.36 trillion. Even a mere 4% decline, as happened when Verizon's CEO left the other day, would wipe out $94 billion of value. Amazon's CEO is, if anything, underpaid.

Josh you sound like Mamdani right now- since when are you anti-capitalist? How many of those warehouse workers could be the CEO of a $2 trillion+ company and be responsible directly for over 1.5 million people? Why is the government getting involved. If people don’t like their pay package they can find other jobs. If the CEO of Amazon isn’t worth the money then the company wouldn’t pay it. Stay out of it.

So you're not just a RINO but also a socialist. What the CEO of any public company or private company makes is none of your business. The only earnings that legitimately warrant public scrutiny is earnings by corrupt politicians, bribed by foreign regimes:

Government does not belong in the business of telling private enterprise how they can compensate their CEOs. This is gross, @HawleyMO. It’s hard to take this seriously if you aren’t also attacking NFL players and celebrities and their crazy multimillion dollar salaries for their “skills.” Amazon’s contribution to the American economy and providing literally 1.5 MILLION+ jobs requires a CEO with tremendous responsibilities.

This is not the government's job, Josh. You are more overpaid than anyone in the private sector.

How many employees do you pay each month, @HawleyMO? Is it even remotely close to the number that Amazon employs? Stay in your lane. Cut government spending. That’s it. Anything besides drastically slashing the amount of money you leech politicians spend every year, is a WASTE of taxpayer money.

Evenly distributing the CEO's $40m salary in a company with over a million employees would give them each less than $40/yr. So where are their pay increases supposed to come from? You're going down a socialist rabbit hole, and you should (and do, I suspect) know better.

Supply and demand. Lots of people capable of putting items in a box. Extremely few people on earth are qualified to run a company like that. Let the capitalist market figure it out. Government needs to butt out of the market.

Are you actually this stupid? It’s genuinely hard to tell these days. Like do you think if he dispersed his salary to all of his employees their lives would somehow get better?

Maybe you could start with drastically limiting work visas and all the other backdoors to getting work visas instead of promoting unions.

People are generally paid according to the value they bring to the company. I doubt the average Amazon worker brings the same value to the company as the CEO. Now, it’s arguable whether the CEO brings $40 million in value, but I’m sure it’s a lot more than the average worker.

Stop allowing companies to hire illegal aliens and it will tighten the labor market, forcing Amazon to compete with higher wages or lose its workers to the competition. There are a hundred ways the Legislature could make that happen, but we get tweets instead.

Stop with the class warfare. I don’t give a shit how much the CEO makes, and it’s none of the government’s business how much any of the employees make. Deregulate and encourage competition/new jobs that pay higher wages. Stay in your lane.

Don’t let anyone tell you Marxism only wears a blue jersey. Josh Hawley proves the right can out-socialist the left. He's on par with Bernie Sanders and Liz Warren when it comes to hatred for the American entrepreneur. He isn’t attacking corruption, he’s attacking success itself, demanding outcomes be equal by force, not earned. If Amazon sucks in your view, then don't deal with them, simple.

I thought you were a Republican. What’s up with this commie talk? It’s absolutely none of your business how much Amazon workers or it’s CEO makes. That’s between the workers, the company, the CEO and shareholders.
