There is no mystery in why God loved Jacob and hated Esau when you understand the order of the ages. Satanโ€™s fall came first and brought about the need for this flesh age; then Adamโ€™s fall brought death into that flesh age. We did not begin our existence as strangers to God in the womb. God knew the souls of Jacob and Esau before they entered this flesh, and He knew the choices they would make. Esauโ€™s selling of his birthright was not God arbitrarily forcing a man to reject what he loved; it revealed the choice of a soul God already knew. Esau chose the gratification of the flesh over the inheritance of God. Jacob desired the birthright. Godโ€™s foreknowledge did not create their choicesโ€”it knew them.

Zechariah 13:9 โ€œAnd I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The LORD is my God.โ€

Because Israel (the big brother the โ€œfirstโ€ brotherโ€)rejected inheritance , and the Christians (the little brother) accepted the inheritance!!

Hmmm nah this is that I suffered more that you Iโ€™m more holy. Thatโ€™s just not true. God loves all people. Some are blessed by God in this life and are amazing Christians and serve the Lord well. He grants to each what they need. Some are trusted with much. Some with little.

The apostle Paul is quoting a verse from the book of Malachi. Jacob I loved, Esau I hated . This is a book end for the nation of Edom. Hated is a reference to wrath. Edom fell under Godโ€™s wrath. Israel did as well, but the promise was still brought through them.

Umm,โ€ฆJacob did not enter the promised land. So, he couldnโ€™t have entered it limping. Makes you wonder what else this man said in error.

powerful, But we must remember that suffering can also come from bad/stupid decisions. Not just correction to to Christ image. & that God is full of Grace, & has other tools. "your rod AND staff". His staff directs & lifts. "you anoint my head with oil". surly goodness & mercy

And why does God love some people and not others? Doesnโ€™t sound like a kind, loving God to me let alone, father.

What was Esau's offense that made God to hate him even before he was born?

According to the bible story. Besides they're all religious myth. Why didn't he soften the heart of pharaoh but instead hardened it and still judged pharaoh for it. ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ

Sound, right up until โ€œ..if He doesnโ€™t love you, He just leaves you alone.โ€ No such thing as Him NOT loving you - at least not in the conventional understanding of that.

This is terrible... the CORRECT answer is that Jacob being loved and Esau hated is about the nation of Israel being chosen in the OT, not Edom... Genesis even says its 2 NATIONS in her womb, not individuals. This is Calvinist nonsense.

The Bible doesnโ€™t tell us that Esau wasnโ€™t ever disciplined. Adding to scripture is dangerous.

You are a ding-a-ling. And this pastor doesn't know the difference between Yahweh and Father/Abba. The main reason why Christianity is so broken. Yahweh was sowing division between 2 houses, Jacob's and Esau's. Later, as u know, Yahweh (Satan) had Israel slaughter the Edomites.
