America is different - and we are exceptional - because we stand on certain foundational principles. And House Republicans will defend those principles.

Having a Christian in the US government isn’t new. Having evangelicalist principles enforced on the people would be an infringement on religious freedom and violation of the first amendment: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.” Right-wingers are trying make everyone believe what they do and that’s fine. But the Bible isn’t a factual document. And making laws that force religion on people is anti-American. Don’t let good intentions or religious faith become an overreach and abuse of power that converts a free nation into a theocracy. America was fought for and founded specifically to avoid that.

Dude, small government? 👀 Banning books? Banning abortions? Don’t say gay bill? Holding up military promotions to prevent women’s choice? A Supreme Court with three justices appointed by your fellow domestic terrorists? Separation of church and state? Not everyone believes in your god, or one at all. That’s not America’s core values, it’s yours, and you’re forcing your crap on us.
