I don’t disagree with some of this, black Americans should be proud of their ancestry and the hard work it took for many to climb to where they are now, but people who worked for Chevy for 50 years can be proud that they built trucks, but it would be delusional to believe Chevy is somehow technically theirs. I hear this talk, often, and it’s baffling. My family worked hard, survived indentured servitude, eventually dirt farmers and now some are finally breaking through to find a little success. I don’t feel we should claim rights to the things along the way our ancestors and us worked on to get us to this moment. The work ethic passed down is what is finally opening doors after being shipped here in crates 250 years ago.
