I'm prefer the american version, sweater instead of jumper, pants instead of trousers, scone instead of biscuit, apartment instead of flat, subway instead of tube, they just make more sense

The funny thing about being South African is we speak British English but due to the amount of American television we watch, we end up switching out words often. The 'Americanese' creeps in every so often.
