Uber is a ride, not a waiting service. You get ~3 minutes per stop. After that, don’t be surprised when they leave.

Some of them understand and pretend they don't so they can get away with stuff. Others truly don't and are dangerous in many ways.

Bro, I went to @Walmart and asked three different employees where to find something and none of them spoke English. The fourth I asked him if he spoke English before I asked for help and he called me racist. So at least he did speak English.

On two separate recent trips to Las Vegas, I have had Lyft drivers with ZERO ENGLISH. That is how I alerted Lyft after the ride: Zero English. None. I got a $2 credit. Try using my exact words. And ride the Deuce bus instead!

Drivers aren’t salaried customer service reps, they’re paid per ride + time. Multiple stops = lower hourly pay, more confusion, and higher chance they dip if something feels off. Not great, but also not shocking. The real issue is zero friction-proofing. Also, if you’ve ever traveled abroad… you’ve BEEN that person not speaking the language. Humbling, right?

They shouldn’t have drivers licenses. It should be illegal. I believe it used to be.

Few years ago around Christmas time I had an Uber driver leave me in a dark secluded residential area. I asked him to wait until I confirmed we were in the right place. It was a Christmas party I was attending but there were no lights inside or outside the building. I said to the driver; I believe we are in the wrong place, please wait, and I stepped out of the Uber walked to the front door which was locked and when I turned around the uber was gone. I had to walk in heels to an area where I could get phone single to request another Uber. I was about a mile or so walk, then waited 30 minutes for another Uber. It’s dangerous but Uber doesn’t care.

If you schedule multiple stops you have to do so ahead of time and then each stop should take no longer than 5 min or the driver has no obligation to wait and he can cancel at his own discretion. As far as him speaking English, well you're barely articulate in the English language yourself. I'm sure this has more to do with you exploiting the ride share app than it has to do with a non English speaking driver. Oh and I'll go out on a limb and guess you don't tip either.

I'm not anti-immigrant but I completely agree with her. Not only should immigrants prioritize learning English but when deciding who gets to come here or who gets a green card, we should prioritize those who have already learned English. Currently we don't do that.

Lyft drivers only wait for five minutes at a stop, if you’re going to be longer than that, you need to order a new ride; they don’t get paid for sitting there. The app does all the work, it may be helpful, but why does the driver NEED to speak English?

Hell I walked into Walmart the other day and, couldn't find what I was looking for so I find an employee only to be met with "no habla inglesia" I couldn't get assistance in @Walmart and of course Walmart never responded to me posting about this incident. 🦗🤡

Agreed I just dealt with a Florida real estate agent who got pissed that I didn’t speak Spanish. She didn’t speak a lock of English. How tf did she get a real estate license?!? Fuck off with that shit- speak English in America

You see it all the time with Hispanics. They won’t learn English so they have kids that become birthright Americans. Then they force those kids to translate everything for them and they’re forced to take care of their younger siblings. They have kids to enslave them.

One of two things happened: 1. You didn’t actually have a second stop (only one stop can be added). 2. You took more than 5 minutes at the stop which means the driver can end the ride.

Its common now that these drivers barely or can’t speak English. I need to be able to communicate and it’s nearly impossible these days. There should be a requirement to speak English! @lyft @Uber
