First of all, this is Chinese junk that was stolen from a different design and modified slightly just to get around an American design American predecessor is the Crescent (and earlier Sears Craftsman Flex Claw) indexing claw hammer that appeared around 2016. Crescent, a historic U.S. brand (founded 1907, now under Apex Tool Group), released an 18 oz steel hammer with a four-position pivoting/indexing rip claw, magnetic nail starter groove, and TPR grip. It was designed to give different leverage angles for pulling nails or prying without switching tools. Craftsman sold a very similar “Flex Claw” version the year before, and ToolGuyd noted Apex was the likely OEM for both. That design is what the SEESE video is copying. Magnetic nail-holding features themselves go back much further in U.S. patents (the earliest magnetic tack hammer dates to 1886), but the adjustable/indexing claw head is a mid-2010s American idea rather than something from the mid-20th century or earlier. Traditional U.S. makers such as Estwing, Vaughan, and Plumb stuck with fixed curved or straight claws.

Lookup "Craftsman Flex Claw Hammer" This product was already available in 2016. The original concept for the hammer was US patented by a Ray W. Johnson in 1950s.
