Congressional Democrats are calculating that the pain and suffering their shutdown inflicts on American families is worthwhile leverage to acquire new power. The Trump EPA has worked as much as possible to mitigate the damage of the Democrats’ refusal to reopen government, but with carry over funding at the agency drying up more each day, the next shutdown decision ahead of us will unfortunately have to be the most severe.
