Amerie — Touch (2005)

This ruined her second album era. They gave her a Ciara/Brooke Valentine song. “Talkin’ About” or “Not The Only One” were right there. Snap & Crunk were great but they didn’t sustain. Same for Mario with “Boom”. ‘Touch’ is a perfect album, except the title track.

You can actually hear the originality from her music which is impressive. It’s like she created a genre for that time. There’s something about the way she uses her voice in that era. You can tell she knows about music theory. Amerie was meant to be much much bigger.

People were sleeping on this song and I don’t understand why

Definitely slept on to the point it pissed me off. Cause 1 thing did so well. This one should’ve been a smash. If it was to be released in today’s music I think it would’ve done better.
