A lahar is a volcanic mudflow that can occur when rainwater mixes with deposits of hot volcanic material from a previous eruption, in this case, the major eruption on November 19th. Because these deposits are still hot, the contact with rainwater can sometimes trigger secondary explosions. In short, there is no new eruption, just a dangerous lahar caused by rain interacting with still-hot volcanic deposits.
