@AukeHoekstra @WattisDuurzaam I've just been to Utrecht and saw an all electric construction site in the city centre. Trucks, excavators...all just humming from electric hydraulics. Only then I saw the signs for vehicle emission restrictions for the city that were extended even to construction vehicles. 👍

@AukeHoekstra @WattisDuurzaam Proudly engineered in Lyon, France 😊

@AukeHoekstra @WattisDuurzaam very cool, didn't know!⚡️⚡️🥇

@AukeHoekstra @WattisDuurzaam I would have expected to be happening much earlier in Amsterdam, Since early 2023 there is an electric garbage truck in Rabat Morocco.

@AukeHoekstra @WattisDuurzaam Was there for the first time last year. Pretty nice city. Amazingly comfortable having this few cars around!

@AukeHoekstra @WattisDuurzaam Oh, that's such good news! The single worst everyday issue with heavy traffic is noise. Here, eliminated 🙌

@AukeHoekstra @WattisDuurzaam Clean, quiet and good for the ears. A few years ago in Berlin the battery was only enough for half a shift, but with a fuel cell as a range extender you could do the job. Today, battery electric waste collectors are being built in series that have enough energy for the day.

@AukeHoekstra @WattisDuurzaam This will be standard everywhere in 2030

@AukeHoekstra @WattisDuurzaam Oh, we could use that. Here in #Santander, Spain the city empties the trash containers during the night. This would be so much quieter.

@AukeHoekstra @WattisDuurzaam Perfect use case. So much stopping where the energy was previously lost, now captured with regen.
