Tsuchiya and the GT1 will always be a classic combo. I was a bit conflicted taking my GT1 kit off my S2000 for the 25th anniversary SEMA build. I’ll always have a soft spot for Amuse and the GT1.

Developed by Matech Concepts to meet FIA GT1 regulations, the Ford GT Matech GT1 marked the return of the Ford GT to top tier endurance racing, using a naturally aspirated 5.0L Cammer V8 making around 600 hp in 2009 before being enlarged to 5.3L for the 2010 FIA GT1 World Championship. Although based on the production chassis, it featured extensive carbon fiber bodywork, a wider track, and a massive rear wing, debuting in 2009 and scoring wins in 2010 at Abu Dhabi and Brno before being run by Mark VDS Racing in 2011.
