Dear Ethiopians, Somalis and Djiboutians On behalf of the Somali Regional State, I extend my profound congratulations on the historic inscription of "Xeer Ciise: Oral Customary Laws of Somali-Issa Communities" into UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage List. This momentous achievement is a beacon of pride for all of us, symbolizing the enduring legacy and rich cultural heritage of our people. The recognition by UNESCO not only elevates the status of our traditional laws but also underscores the global significance of our cultural practices. Xeer Ciise, a cornerstone of our social structure, has long been a guiding force for peace, justice, and community cohesion among the Somali-Issa. This acknowledgment by the international community reaffirms our commitment to preserving these invaluable traditions. Let this celebration be a reminder of our collective responsibility to nurture and safeguard our cultural heritage for future generations. It's an invitation to deepen our engagement with our customs, fostering a sense of unity and shared identity across our borders. May this recognition inspire us to continue our efforts in promoting dialogue, cultural exchange, and mutual respect among our communities, ensuring that our legacy, like Xeer Ciise, remains vibrant and alive. I would like to thanks all those who contributed to this process particularly the Sitty heritage foundation. Thanks to the team that represented the community and the three countries including Minister Dauud Aweys, Minister Hibo Moumin, Ambassador Mahlet Hailu, Ambassador Ayeid Mousseid, Dr Hussein Kasim, Warsan Awil, Ayan Ali, and Abdirahman Osman, With utmost respect and congratulations,

Naval Ravikant shares the common thread he sees across the great companies โ€œI definitely believe that, as an entrepreneur, youโ€™ll never accomplish anything great in life unless you stick with it through the end.โ€ In this clip from a 2011 interview with Jason Calicanis on This Week in Startups, Naval shares that he was reminiscing on the several amazing companies he had seen in his career: Dropbox, Twilio, Airbnb, Square, Twitter, etc. โ€œI was thinking to myself: What was the common thread amongst each of them? Itโ€™s very hard to draw a common thread across such a large group. And I realized that the entrepreneurs were extremely deliberate in every early decision that they made. They were not haphazard. And the reason is because they really felt like they were laying the foundation for a 10-year business. None of them were thinking of it as something they would try and flip.โ€ He continues: โ€œThatโ€™s necessary, but not sufficient. There are plenty of entrepreneurs who are forward-looking who will not make it. But I think that unless youโ€™re extremely forward-looking, in it for the long haul, and you ooze that with every fiber of your being, youโ€™re never going to build a great business.โ€ The best founders, he argues: โ€œWork every detail out: the name, the logo, every investor, every person they hire, where they put the office. Every little detail really matters to them because theyโ€™re laying bricks to a foundation.โ€ And the less forward-looking founders will โ€œsell when they get the first offer or shut down when they hit the first speed bump.โ€ Video source: This Week in Startups @jason (2012)

Oh man, buckle up, Somali brothers, it is your sister abla talking with no filter, just straight chaos and cackling like we are sitting around fire in summer camp talking about international marriage drama on steroids: Remember like three years ago? Yeah, 2023, peak pandemic hangover era. Somali dudes were out here acting like Morocco was the new Costco for wives. Flights booked, suitcases packed with qabil pride and zero game plan. TikTok full of adeers landing in Casablanca like โ€œYo, found the upgrade! Cheap mahr, beautiful vibes, no drama!โ€ They were hyping it like Black Friday deals, โ€œMoroccan queens better than Somali queens, wallahi!โ€ Airports looking like Somali hajj but with more henna and less sense. Fast forward to now those same Moroccan brides? They leveled up harder than a Fortnite skin. They grabbed those passports, citizenship papers, legal docs in the diaspora bag like Pokรฉmon cards, said โ€œThanks for the green card upgrade, habibi,โ€ and bounced. Now there is whole TikTok groups popping off of Moroccan ex wives spilling tea, roasting Somali ex hubbies like it is an open mic night. Confessions on loopโ€œHe thought he was getting a submissive queen, but I was getting a free ticket to freedom!โ€ Laughing emojis, divorce dance challenges, the works. And the queen of the group? This Moroccan woman who divorced her Somali guy in the UK probably after he asked her to serve him pasta for every meal and calling it โ€œfusion cuisineโ€then she slid right into a Pakistani husband. Pakistani dude probably showed up with biryani game on lock, and hided his โ€œmy mom saysโ€ energy. She is out here laughing, remarried, posting โ€œFrom Mogadishu pasta to Lahore riceโ€ vibes. Hard flex & gained lot of weight & became the human whale. So yeah, Somali kings who thought they were playing 4D chess? Turns out it was checkers, and the board flipped. Those Moroccan brides played the long gameโ€ฆ.got the papers, got the exit, got the glow up. Now they are in group chats like โ€œWhoโ€™s next? Tag your ex!โ€ while the Somali brothers left holding empty suitcases and lawyer bills are just staring at the ceiling like โ€œWhat happened to โ€˜easy marriageโ€™?โ€ Hard luck to every Somali man out there still swiping on that Morocco filter. Lesson learned the expensive way: Donโ€™t treat international marriage like a budget airline ticket. Sometimes the layover turns into a full deportation of your dreams. Moral of the story? Love is blind, but immigration lawyers ainโ€™t. Stay woke, stay local, or at least read the fine print before you board that flight. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ’”โœˆ๏ธ

๐ŸšจManchester United legend and Japanese star Shinji Kagawa on his time at Old Trafford. ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Shinji Kagawa: โ€œJoining Manchester United was one of the proudest moments of my career. To become the first Japanese player to wear that shirt was an incredible honour. I wasnโ€™t just representing myselfโ€”I was representing Japan every time I stepped onto the pitch at Old Trafford. Knowing that so many young Japanese fans were watching me gave me extra motivation every single game. โ€œIโ€™ll never forget the match against Norwich City in 2013. Itโ€™s still the most memorable game of my Manchester United career. Scoring my first and only hat-trick for the club at Old Trafford was a dream come true. Wayne Rooney assisted my first goal, and Robin van Persie set me up for another. The atmosphere was unbelievable, and hearing the fans sing my name after completing the hat-trick is something Iโ€™ll carry with me forever. โ€œPlaying under Sir Alex Ferguson taught me what it truly means to be a Manchester United player. Every training session demanded excellence, every match carried pressure, and every trophy had to be earned. Winning the Premier League in my first season made all the hard work worthwhile. โ€œManchester United changed my life. It gave me unforgettable memories, incredible teammates, and the chance to inspire an entire generation of Japanese footballers. Even today, whenever I think about Old Trafford, I smile because it will always feel like a special home.โ€

Last nightโ€™s Burna Boy concert was a visual storytelling masterpiece! I TOLD DEM. In the word of late Virgil Abloh is storytelling of the ordinary every day through the lens of an extraordinary creative! #BurnaboyLondonStadium live was a full band, with superb dance and vocal performance- as expected if youโ€™ve been to a burna concert before you know he leaves no stone untouched! But letโ€™s get back to the storytelling - From Giza grocery store set design, a nod to his hit with rising star Seyi Vibes who actually came out in grocery store uniform, to artists getting haircuts in a makeshift salon before hitting the stage, it was incredible. Africa was truly on the map with performances by Benson ,Pheelz๐Ÿ˜๐ŸคŸ๐Ÿพ , OMAH LAY Snoh EZEGE 1 , INDUSTRY MACHINE โš™๏ธ , Shallipopi , TITO M, YUPPE SNE, and many moreโ€ฆ We saw general Odumodu locked in a phone booth before his release for his verse with Shalli and the Twashala Bam crew getting haircuts live. KARATE KICKS for killing demโ€ฆ Every moment was a tribute to the vibes and the visuals impeccable yet relatable. If you blinked, you missed the intricate details behind each song. What an unforgettable evening! Burna ended on the incredible โ€˜Last Lastโ€™ and gave us drama with the incredible fireworks spectacle! This concert was nothing short of an epic evening! Shout out to all the Outsiders and Thanks to COKOBARโ„ข for hosting us๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿฆ

Dejan Kulusevski on returning to full Tottenham training after a long-term injury. ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธโ€œThis is one of the happiest days of my career. People see football for ninety minutes every weekend, but they donโ€™t see the months of pain, the lonely mornings in the gym, the frustration of watching your teammates fight while youโ€™re stuck on the sidelines wondering when youโ€™ll feel like yourself again.โ€ โ€œThere were days I questioned everything. You wake up every morning hoping your body will respond, hoping youโ€™ll take one step closer to the pitch, and sometimes it doesnโ€™t. Those moments test you as a person far more than any football match ever could.โ€ โ€œIโ€™ve missed this feeling more than words can describe. The dressing room, the laughter, the intensity of training, competing with my teammates againโ€ฆ itโ€™s what Iโ€™ve dreamed about every single day since the injury happened. You never truly appreciate football until itโ€™s taken away from you.โ€ โ€œI want to thank everyone who stood by me my family, my teammates, the medical staff and especially the Tottenham supporters. They never stopped believing in me, even when I couldnโ€™t help the team on the pitch. Every message, every chant and every bit of support gave me strength when I needed it most.โ€ โ€œNow the hard work begins. Iโ€™m not back just to make up the numbers I want to fight, compete and prove that Iโ€™m still the player everyone remembers. I know there will be doubts, but Iโ€™ve always answered doubts with football.โ€ โ€œThis injury didnโ€™t break me it built me. It made me mentally stronger, hungrier and more grateful for every second I get to wear this badge. I promise the fans one thing: when I step back onto that pitch, Iโ€™ll leave absolutely everything out there. Iโ€™ve waited far too long for this moment to waste a single second.โ€

.Rwanda Social Security Board and our favorite artist The Ben joined Umuganura celebration in the Nordics, making the event even more memorable! Rwandans living in #Finland, #Denmark, #Norway and #Sweden couldnโ€™t have asked for a better Umuganura! Over 500 Rwandans from across the Nordic countries gathered in Norway to celebrate Umuganura : Rwandaโ€™s National Harvest , alongside members of the diplomatic corps accredited to Norway and the vibrant African diaspora. This yearโ€™s Umuganura was the best ever ! A powerful celebration of culture, unity, and Rwandaโ€™s forward-looking vision. A standout moment was the engagement with Alain Ngirinshuti from Rwanda Social Security Board who flew in from Rwanda to share two groundbreaking government initiatives: -Housing Projects , designed to give every Rwandan a dignified place to call home. - Ejo Heza , an innovative long-term savings scheme that enables all Rwandans, including children, to secure futures through voluntary savings and pension benefits. These initiatives reflect the Government of Rwanda โ€™s bold and inclusive approach to nation-building, ensuring that no one is left behind , not even abroad. The celebration was elevated by an electric performance from our favorite artist The Ben, alongside beautiful Rwandan community in the Nordicsโ€™ traditional cultural groups who reminded us of the richness of our heritage. This Umuganura wasnโ€™t just a harvest celebration. it was a testament to progress, purpose, and pride in being Rwandan.
