A note last night in the first half. We really did play some excellent football. Whilst i know Ugbo is, rightfully, coming under some stick of his lack of goals, he offers so much more to how we play. As does Josh Windass, who I am noticing is just about getting the recognition he deserves from the fans. The play in the first half was very different to the second half when those 2 went off. They both offer so much more insofar as overall game than the other options we have in those areas. A few clips below from key moments in the first half. Windass really did run the show in the final third and build up. He comes out of areas to allow straight passes where he is an option for first time reverse balls. He and Pol have really good chemistry down the right as Josh knows he will overlap and beat his man. The awareness from Josh with scanning that i picked out, allowing for high tempo play into space. A note on data: First half vs second half Passes 193 (87% ACC) vs 159 (78% Acc) xG 2.04 vs 0.42 Penalty area entries: 11 vs 6 From runs: 4 vs 2 Touches in the box: 16 vs 7 Long pass rate: 8.29 vs 13.29 Passes per possession: 4.11 vs 2.96 Wedensday's overall game is so much better when U Our game is so much better when Windass and Ugbo play. I know Smith is scoring and credit to him. But we just dont have the mechanisms to control a game without Ugbo and Josh. We cant get it to the final third in control. From International Space Station, we have a unique vantage point to observe lightning storms from directly above them. Much like from the ground, they appear as rapid, intense flashes that are over as quickly as they started. But, with the help of handheld cameras and a bit of practice (and, admittedly, some luck), we can capture these intense flashes with a very high frame rate then slow them down to see how the lightning propagates. It's lightning, in slow motion. This is one that occurred over Indonesia on 6/28. I shot it for a half second at 1/120 frame rate, so, 60 separate frames. I then compiled those frames into two videos: the first, in real-time, and the second, slowed down so that each frame is a half second to highlight the progression of the flash. Note the incredible burst of light in one frame, which includes what is likely a TLE on the upper left. A TLE, or Transient Luminous Event, is an electrical discharge that happens in the upper atmosphere above lightning storms (if you haven’t seen Ferry Farhan TLE photo from last week, head over to her page). As their name implies, these are transient, or short lived, phenomena – it appeared in only one frame of the sequence, lasting for no more than 1/120th of a second. The last photo is that single frame. Absolutely incredible.

As requested by Alex Miller yesterday, a look at our out of possession shape in the first half. 1: (10 secs) - Wednesday in a very narrow high block in a 523 out of possession. It only looked like this when the ball is central. Nowrich rotate (change positions during play) a lot and this narrow block denies central rotation. In this clip, they have had rotation in left back position as the CM has dropped into the area and left back on the last line. 2: 20 secs - When the ball went wide or started to move wide, the full back would advance up the pitch to pressure the full back and press full back to full back, whilst the CBs would come out with the Norwich forwards coming in between the lines, as this ball transitions across the pitch you see Sargent come out and Iorfa following tight. Fusire in this clip has come out to mark full back to full back and creating a makeshift back 4. 3: 47 secs - Wednesday get back into their narrow block shape 4: 56 secs - rotation from the front line form Norwich 5: 58 seconds, Palmer comes out of the back line to pick up the rotation and prevent space between lines. As the player turns to our left, Amass starts to come out to pick up full back to full back on the other side. In summary, Wednesday played their familiar 523 blocking shape out of possession but it was much more proactive in the back 5 than we usually see it, with full backs and Cbs following rotations and stepping out of the backline to prevent space between lines. Inside Kaizer Chiefs' Second-Half Tactical Dominance📝 Kaizer Chiefs produced a far more balanced and purposeful attacking display in the second half. There was greater tactical flexibility in their movement, improved intensity in and out of possession, and better decision-making in the final third. The constant rotation of positions made it difficult for Kruger United to maintain their defensive shape, creating more space and allowing Chiefs to attack with greater fluency and control. A far more dynamic display in attack with Vilakazi mostly receiving inside that wide. ■ Chiefs showed patient but purposeful ball circulation, refusing to force attacks but moving the ball a bit quicker than usual. There were quick passing sequences, one-touch combinations and improved third-man movements which manipulated Kruger's defensive block, creating spaces to penetrate in the half-spaces and from both flanks. We made it difficult for them to break out and progress when we decided to press. ■ Ethan Chislett was the tactical heartbeat in the 10 role. He freely roamed across the final 3rd, creating overloads between the lines and dragging defenders out of position. His pressing was good, contributed directly to the sequences that led to both goals. His movement allowed both Baartman (LW) and Vilakazi (RW) to invert into central pockets without sacrificing width. ■ The chemistry between Chislett, Baartman and Vilakazi created constant positional rotations that made Chiefs unpredictable. As Kruger narrowed to protect central spaces, Monyane and Frosler aggressively attacked the wide channels, stretching the defensive block while remaining tactically disciplined after offensive actions. FT Spurs 1 v 2 Fulham That first half was absolutely shambolic and totally unacceptable To any fan or player of this club an XG of 0.01 with 17 crosses and no shots on target v a team that’s not won away from home all season until today . Vicario hang your head in shame again useless. At least in the second half we came out with serious intent. Bergvall was relentless so much great energy.Muani is always dangerous and the class act up front.Kudus with a superb finish to get us back into the game in the 2nd half. Let’s be honest without MVDV’s first half performance we’d of not had a chance to still be in the match. Despite all this it’s just not good enough.4 wins at home since Nov 3 2024 and only 3 home wins out of our last 21 it is a disgrace . With 3 defeats in a week I’d say Frank has got a tough task ahead to keep his job at the club the next 2 fixtures could well determine the outcome of his tenure. I don’t get on here much anymore, but still have a bunch of friends who have always shown interest in the boys so I thought I’d share a video of Roman from last night. Let me set the stage first… Roman is a freshman at Fishers HS, which happens to have the best boys program in the state (there’s a reason he chose to go there with our support)—they’ll start the season #1 and the coaching staff is next level. He’ll be playing a combo JV and freshman this year, which allows him to practice against two of the best guards in the state every day—both will be playing high level D1 in a couple of years. The perfect set up for him to continue to pursue his goals, assuming he puts in the work. Last night was the season kickoff night and Roman got to participate in the three point shootout (he didn’t tell me he’d be doing this) and after sitting for 30-plus minutes because only varsity participated in everything prior to the 3-point contest, he took two shots and did this… 22 threes in 60 seconds—tying the best shooter on the team and forcing a shootout where he lost 10-12 in 30 seconds. As you can hear, Silas and I were hyped for him. I know this doesn’t meant anything as there’s more to the game than standstill shooting, but I also know it doesn’t mean nothing.
