The people that don't find this funny because it's not hateful also don't find it funny because observational comedy only works for you if you've observed it too, and they have never made anybody laugh let alone a trans woman.

Erm, you do know that "the wizard author" has said nothing nasty about trans people? Unless you think "they're male" is nasty - spoiler, it's just reality. All she said was "being female is sometimes relevant and occasionally even important". Apparently this means she's a nazi.

Not because the TQ+ think it's funny. Because they don't. And here's why. The whole premise of your joke is that everybody knows 'TW' are men. Q - Why do comedians like hanging around 'TW'? A - Because they can always tell their polite laugh from their genuine laugh. Get a room full of them laughing in a Trans Club and it sounds just like any Friday footy night down the local. The joke is that their laydee mask has slipped, and that you (just like everybody else) have never believed they're women. Watch out - they're coming for you.
