So what I can glean is that Pope Leo has spent most of his time in Peru and he speaks Spanish and Italian. Theologically conservative, socially more liberal. So far that sounds good to me. I guess we just have to wait and see.

I was (vainly) hoping for Cardinal Sarah - someone much more conservative than Prevost. However, I pray that the enormous magnitude of the responsibilities Leo XIV is about to assume stimulates a sober humility to support and defend the deposit of the Faith from the rationalizations of secular peculiarities.

I’m not too terribly excited, Patricia. He’s said to follow in Francis’ ways, ie mass immigration, etc. I’m out until I see more. Would have preferred Dolan, personally. 🤷‍♀️
