Ye refused to speak with investigators about what happened and spent the next week in the hospital. After being released, Ye crossed into Canada and fled to China to avoid punishment for the passenger that was killed. At the same time, a warrant was issued by the King County Attorney’s Office charging Ye with vehicular manslaughter, requesting a $2M bail but Ye was gone. Thanks to the lack of an extradition treaty between the United States and China, it is unlikely Ye will be punished for her crime. What a failure.
