Reporter: This indictment charged against James Comey was never actually presented to the full grand jury. The original indictment that Lindsey Halligan presented was 3 counts. That grand jury felt that there was not enough evidence to charge Comey on one of the counts. Halligan reprinted a new version of the indictment, and instead of re-presenting it to the full grand jury, she just had the foreperson sign it. This is a major procedural mishap because the indictment against him could be seen as invalidated.

For far too long the violent left has been allowed to attack innocent Americans with ZERO repercussion. Today's indictment sets an extremely important precedent and send a very important message to every left winger in this country, you can't attack people with impunity anymore. The department of justice was started around 1870, in the presidency of Ulysses S grant. That was a great year for the doj. And since that time, the doj has had an esprit de corps unmatched in any federal agency. In my humble view. Let's talk about the rule of law. When I worked in edva for almost 20 years, the rule of law was my north star. It was my moral compass. I prosecuted people without fear or favor, without bias for anybody. Prejudice against anybody. Sympathy or empathy. I did what justice Sutherland said a U.S. Attorney should do. Strike hard blows. But they cannot be foul ones. And the presentation of the indictment yesterday by Lindsey Halligan, who stands on the shoulders of great U.S. Attorneys, including John Marshall, she struck a foul blow yesterday.”
