An educated public is harder to control. That’s why Republicans are attacking public education, dismantling the Dept. of Education, and abandoning the young people our future depends on. Dismantling education isn’t a byproduct of authoritarianism. It’s a prerequisite for it.

Name one academic metric that has improved since the DOE was created?

Almost no country spends more per capita on education than the US with ABYSMAL results. Why are you determined to continue allowing children to fall victim to the bureaucratic bloat and union stranglehold that controls education??

Dying to know how the Department of Education has improved education. If only there were some stats and figures we could see that could tell us? Hmm.

Where is it written than an educated public is harder to control? The easiest people to control during covid were the college professors.

The public used to be educated. The Democrats created the Department of Education and the public became uneducated.

You are sadly misinformed or lying. One or the other. Education is financed at the state level. Do your homework first.

School district administrators tend to be liberals. So because of eliminating the Federal Eduction department, you think schools will educate kids even less than they do now to appease Pres Trump? Gotcha, makes sense

Nonsense. But to your point, our education systems are locally driven, with poor performance and mainly by the very labor unions that divert member dues to supporting you. I guess their part of the deal is to deliver stupid. Explains a lot.

The Democratic Governor of Oregon suspended academic requirements for Reading, Writing and Math. Making black people “dumber” is just another Democratic enslavement tool.

I think you mean Republicans are dismantling taxpayer funded indoctrination centers. Meanwhile, Democrats attack free speech every chance they get. You only attack free speech if your ideas are terrible. Those who attack free speech are never the good guys in all of history.

An educated public? You mean a public that isn’t indoctrinated is harder to control. What party does the teachers union support? What are the political leanings of the members of that union? Why do they feel they need to inject their political beliefs in the classroom? Why are you so scared of this?

It could also be that cutting the legs off the fastest runners, so the slowest runners don't feel bad, is a terrible education strategy. Enforce real standards. Don't graduate those who should not be graduated.

More Democrat lies. Republicans in the U.S. House are actively advancing legislation to dismantle the Department of Education by scattering its programs to other federal agencies. They are returning control to the states to eliminate federal red tape, save taxpayer money, and expand "school choice".

Conservatives are attacking public education because it is abysmal & counterproductive. For the last 50 years it has lowered standards & practically handed out diplomas, all the while indoctrinating students to anti-American propaganda & Leftist (Socialist, progressive) ideology

You're as dumb as a stump and not fit to lecture anyone on the status of education in the United States. Nothing has done more to harm education in America's public schools than the federal government. Now fuck off with your blame game.

Lady, you're just noise. Your video and your post are classic deflection. You frame any attempt to shrink or eliminate the bloated federal Department of Education as some authoritarian plot to keep the public dumb. That's backwards. The real damage to today's young adults - especially in Black DEMOCRAT ran communities - comes from decades of Democrat-led policies that lowered standards, removed accountability, subsidized family breakdown, and prioritized feelings and "equity" over excellence and order. Look at the results in real time. Soft-on-crime policies, reduced prosecutions, revolving-door "reform," and refusal to remove chronically disruptive students from classrooms ("expel the bad seeds") have left neighborhoods and schools chaotic. Participation trophies, social promotion, and the endless dumbing-down of expectations under the banner of not hurting feelings have produced a cohort that struggles to compete in a merit-based world. The data is brutal and consistent: roughly 70% of Black newborns are born to unmarried mothers. Asian Americans sit around 12%. Family structure is one of the strongest predictors of outcomes across every group -poverty, crime, school performance, future earnings. Stable two-parent homes with high expectations produce vastly different results than single-parent homes incentivized and normalized by welfare policies that have been expanded and defended for generations. Compare the kids. "Foundational" Black youth versus children of Asian immigrants. There's no serious comparison in average academic performance, discipline, family stability, or long-term success. Asian kids (many from immigrant families that started with little) dominate top percentiles on NAEP, SAT, and real-world achievement because their culture demands excellence, values education ruthlessly, maintains family structure, and rejects the victim-excuse industrial complex. Meanwhile, federal education spending has exploded- per-pupil expenditures now average well over $16,000 - yet NAEP scores show persistent large gaps and long periods of stagnation or decline despite the money. The Department of Education, created in 1979, has presided over this while teachers' unions (heavily aligned with your party) fight accountability, choice, and higher standards at every turn. Your side didn't demand excellence. It demanded lower bars, more bureaucracy, more dependency, and more excuses. The kids who grew up in households that rejected that - who got pushed hard on education, personal responsibility, and real standards - are the ones prospering as adults. That's not "systemic" magic. That's culture and parenting doing the heavy lifting your policies actively undermined. Dismantling or drastically shrinking the federal education bureaucracy isn't a prerequisite for authoritarianism. It's a long-overdue correction after the federal layer helped entrench failure, dependency, and lowered expectations in the very communities your party claims to champion. The evidence is in the outcomes, not your talking points. Stop pretending Republicans are the villains here. The policies your side championed and defended for 30+ years produced exactly the broken results we're living with. Personal responsibility, family stability, and ruthless demand for excellence still work - when people actually practice them instead of waiting for another federal program or excuse. Your narrative is noise. The results speak louder. This video drags the whole “celebrate everything except actual achievement” mindset. It calls out how some communities will throw parades for symbolism while their kids can’t read a damn sentence. The creator basically says the literacy crisis isn’t an accident — it’s the result of people prioritizing vibes, victimhood, and performative pride over basic competence. She uses viral clips and headlines to show how folks get loud about identity politics but go silent when the conversation shifts to accountability, discipline, or education. The tone is unapologetic, mocking, and fed up, pushing the point that you can’t fix a failing culture if everyone’s more worried about feelings than fundamentals.

As a retired, teacher from urban high schools, I can assure you that respect for education was gone by the year 2000 for most. I did a survey of over 300 hs student's eating, sleeping, study habits & more--astonishing. They're not attacking "education" but current lack of it!

Correction. An indoctrinated public is easier to control. The illusion of an education while teaching mind numbed leftist social studies in every class is why the overpriced public schools are failing at teaching anything that enables the students.
