At my school, our science night is our biggest turnout of the year, every year. Math and literacy night, crickets. And my campus is considered economically diverse

almost everyone who actually cares about their kids has taken them out of school at this point. it’s really sad that the kids whose parents *truly* have no choice have to be dragged down by the products of that, but on the bright side, at least that’s not happening here!

There can be a lot of reasons for this. Some parents are intimidated by the idea. Some are working. There are some with other kids they don’t know if they can bring. Some didn’t get notice or understand the importance. Maybe transportation.And then there are those who don’t care.
