The problem is not the price if the debt is serviceable. 10% interest pa of £100k is the same as 2% at £500k. It is the deposit. A 5% deposit on £100K is £5000 A 5% deposit on £500k is £25000 Millennials struggle to save for a minimal deposit and get the worst interest rates.

Interesting visual. There is 2x the amount of land per person in France. This is often under appreciated and has an outsized impact on house prices. There's simply a lot of livable land in France & as a generalization the French don't like older properties, whereas the Brits do.

@JuliaHB1 On this assumption, my first house which I bought for £46k should now be worth £2.3M when its actually selling for approx £240k WILDLY inaccurate
