☠️🇺🇸America's strategic objective to encircle and contain China never changed! Remember the video of US Army Colonel Lawrence Wilkerson, former chief of staff to US Secretary of State Colin Powell? It becomes relevant again after Trump's recent comments about retaking Bagram Air Base. In the video, Wilkerson openly admits America's true strategic objectives in Afghanistan, which were never about state-building or fighting the Taliban. Wilkerson states that the primary reasons for the US presence in Afghanistan are to: 1. Encircle and contain China: Afghanistan's strategic location allows the US to project military power to disrupt and control China's Belt and Road Initiative, which America sees as a major threat to it's global hegemony 2. Destabilize Western China: The US aims to support and use Uyghur extremist and terrorist organizations, like the East Turkistan Islamic Movement (ETIM), to create unrest and destabilize China's Xinjiang province. Wilkerson even mentions that the CIA is training these "Uyghur" terrorists in Syria (Which have now been folded into Syria’s military establishment) Conveniently, the US State Dept. under Trump 1.0 revoked the designation of the ETIM as a “terrorist organization” in 2020 This video exposes America's long-standing policy of using terrorism as a tool to destabilize countries that challenge its global dominance. This is precisely why the US ambassador to India bluntly warned Indians – like a mafioso – that India enjoys no such thing as strategic autonomy. The US wants India to be an “ally” – euphemism for vassal – whose foreign policies perfectly align with those of the US. That is, the enemy of the US should be an enemy of India. (Think Russia, China and Iran). Also, America’s wars should be India’s wars; and ideally, India will allow US military bases. Finally, India should not promote BRICS or de-dollarization. After all, the dollar underpins the might of the US Empire. 2/10

The US has nearly 800 overseas military bases in 80 countries. Sachs makes the point that 80 years after WWII, countries like Germany and Japan still host US military bases, and have lost their ability to criticise Washington, or even point out basic truths about international relations at forums like the UN. Sachs also appealed to India not to join the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue, which is an informal strategic partnership between India, Australia, Japan and the US. He warns that this alliance is another form of US imperialism and that India certainly had enough from its own long and bitter experience with British colonialism.

The US is withdrawing its personnel from Victory Base in Baghdad, which has been repeatedly attacked during these three weeks of fighting, to its bases in Jordan, which will bring an end to the US presence on Iraqi federal territory (a process that had accelerated following the withdrawal of most of its troops from Syria and the handover of Al-Asad Airbase in January 2026), leaving only Al-Harir Air Base in Iraqi Kurdistan, which is likely to become the new target of attacks alongside the daily strikes against the headquarters of the Kurdish militias.
