Troops discover, detonate IED in Borno community By: Zagazola Makama Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have discovered and safely detonated an improvised explosive device (IED) in Mairari town along the Gajiram axis of Borno State. Security sources said the device was detected at about 9:00 a.m. on April 17 by an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) and route scanning team deployed from a Forward Operating Base in the area. According to the sources, the IED was found at the edge of the town’s exit gate, raising concerns about potential threats to both civilians and security personnel using the route.

This command-wire improvised explosive device (IED) was discovered by troops of the 149 Battalion buried beneath a road in Kanguri village, Borno State, while escorting a Mine Risk Group (MRG) team from Maiduguri. The team was en route to recover two trucks that had been damaged in an earlier IED blast.

🇺🇦 Ukraine will no longer purchase morally obsolete M107-type 155 mm artillery shells with a range of 18 km (including domestically produced ones) and will instead prioritize modern, extended-range ERFB (Extended Range Full Bore) 155 mm artillery shells with a range of 38 km. 🔻 The information is reported by Defence Express, citing statements from representatives of the Ukrainian company “Ukrainian Armored Vehicles”.
