An interesting short that doesn't get talked about that much: Ub Iwerks' SKELETON FROLIC (1937), a color twist on his SKELETON DANCE animation for Disney back in 1929. It's not as classic as the original, but the colors and animation are quite nice and it's good spooky fun.

It's not as hard as ttfaf but it's pretty much impossible on controller again unless you either fc with a billion goods or strike 5 times to get good perfects. Played it once on pad and said fuck that, but it's very fun on kb

It's always interesting to me how the Rhapsody in Blue segment in Fantasia 2000 was initially intended as a standalone short because it has so much DNA of Fantasia in it. Either way, I'm glad Eric Goldberg got to make it at Disney Animation cause it's pure art.

It's maybe an interesting info for people who visit Thailand the first time. Look for the small sign on the windshield in the taxi that says "ว่าง", which means "available". If the word is illuminated in red or green, the taxi is free. If it's not, the taxi is not available. So it's not about the color that matters, but whether the sign is lit or not. #bangkok #thailand #tips

Eric Rohmer on the use of Colour in "La Collectionneuse" (1967) and "Claire's Knee" (1970): "I didn't use color as a dramatic element, as some filmmakers have done. For me it's something inherent in the film as a whole. I think that in 'La Collectionneuse' (1967) color above all heightens the sense of reality and increases the immediacy of the settings. In this film color acts in an indirect way; it's not direct and there aren't any color effects, as there are for example in Bergman's most recent film, his second one in color, where the color is very deliberately worked out and he gets his effects mainly by the way he uses red. I've never tried for dramatic effects of this kind, but. for example, the sense of time-evening, morning, and so on-can be rendered in a much more precise way through color. Color can also give a stronger sense of warmth, of heat, for when the film is in black-and-white you get less of a feeling of the different moments of the day, and there is less of what you might call a tactile impression about it. In 'Claire's Knee' (1970), I think it works in the same way: the presence of the lake and the mountains is stronger in color than in black-and-white. It's a film I couldn't imagine in black-and-white. The color green seems to me essential in that film, I couldn't imagine it without the green in it. And the blue too-the cold color as a whole. This film mould have no value for me in black-and-white. It's a very difficult thing to explain. It's more a feeling I have that can't be reasoned out logically." On today's NBA Today they talked about Peterson not working out for the Jazz and Ramona Shelburne shared her thoughts: "I don't think it's as big a deal as you might think. He met with the Jazz at the combine, they had a good conversation and interview, they looked at his medicals, everybody feels okay about that. I think this is more a statement from Darryn Peterson saying, 'I want to go number one. That's my goal.'... But I think he doesn't get past the Jazz at two regardless of whether he goes there (to workout) or not... It's not a statement against the Jazz, it's more a statement that I want to go number one."
