An interview with the wonderful Margaret Rutherford & her husband Stringer Davis in 1966

I just googled MR on Wikipedia. She’s a member of the Benn family (her uncle was Tony Benn’s g’father). She had quite a lot of tragedy. Her father killed his father after a nervous breakdown and her mother committed suicide.

Thanks for sharing that Kirsteen, I had heard some of that, it must’ve been terrible for her, I saw an interview with Tony Benn years later in which he said the gutter press dug up the story & published it which upset them both so much.

Wow, I still love her films, I think my favourite if I have this right is "The Lady Vanishes". There just something about the film some drama and some comedy it' just one of those films you never forget.

A wonderful woman who if you read about her life will see that she overcame some very challenging events. Her husband was a Lieutenant in WW2 in the East Yorkshire's and was at Dunkirk. A devoted couple if ever there was one.

I agree Jeff, I’ve read & seen a documentary about her, she was a very brave lady
