Here is Yasmin Vossoughian Reports talking to someone inside Iran. This is journalism, not what CNN is doing by sending Frederik Pleitgen to Iran as journalist who is controlled by the regime and only reports regime propaganda narratives. Also, this is for the “Pahlavi has no support in Iran” & “no one knows who Pahlavi is in Iran” crowd. And for those who have been attacking the diaspora/Iranians inside Iran, calling them “vatan foroush” aka “one who sells out their own country” People need to stop pretending they speak for Iranians inside Iran while ignoring what many inside Iran are actually saying. Even in this clip, our brother inside Iran clearly says people support Reza Pahlavi and need someone like him. You do not have to “want war” to understand why many Iranians believe the regime cannot be defeated by bare hands against Basij, and the IRGC. No sane Iranian wants to see their homeland bombed, but the blame for where we are belongs first and foremost to the Islamic Republic, not to Iranians in the diaspora and not to Iranians inside Iran who believe outside help is necessary. We heard the same arguments during the June 2025 war, and I told y’all, if the regime survives more Iranians will be killed than you can imagine. Less than a year later, 32k+ Iranians were killed in the regime’s own crackdown as I called it. Compare that to the numbers during these two wars, which include high rate of IRGC & regime officials. So I genuinely want to understand the logic of attacking the very people who are standing with Iranians inside Iran. We in the GTA are home to a large community of Iranians who left their homeland and now call Canada home. Yet, seeing the events unfolding in Iran, their hearts morn for their family and communities that remain in Iran. Thousands of Iranians will be marching today in Toronto in solidarity with their brothers and sisters. For over four decades, the people of Iran have lived under a regime that promised hope and delivered repression, corruption, and violence. Like a lion long restrained but never broken, the children of Cyrus the Great are rising once again. This is not simply because of economic collapse but because a people can only be pushed so far before they demand their freedom. The regime answered that cry by shutting down the internet and tearing families apart by mass arrests. Credible reports tell us that tens of thousands have been killed. This is how tyranny survives by silencing truth and ruling through terror. That is why I proudly support petition e-7153, initiated by my constituent, Reza Sadjadi. Canada must stand with Iranians who are risking everything for freedom.

Today was very special for Bryan and I to stand tall with and for the People of Iran. Thank you to Darya Safai for inviting me and allowing us to pray together for the tens of thousands of Iranians murdered by this “sick” regime, as President Trump has said of them. As US Ambassador to Belgium, the USA supports the will of the Iranian people for a better future. While we have interacted with many external opposition figures, we want to be clear that, as The President has said, the U.S. does specifically not endorse Reza Pahlavi or any specific opposition leader. Rather, we wholeheartedly support the will of the Iranian people in Iran for a better future for them and their families. I met three mothers whose sons were killed by the regime for simply walking in the streets holding candles for peace. We took a moment of silence for all those who have been killed. We stand with the great people of Iran.
