The appointment of South Africa’s new Deputy Minister of Education, Yusuf Cassim, has triggered a wave of Islamophobic abuse and coordinated online attacks. Many of the accounts behind the anti-Muslim rhetoric appear to originate outside South Africa, raising questions about an organised campaign.

‼️ Romanian presidential candidate Calin Georgescu detained Calin Georgescu, a pro-Russian candidate in the presidential election, the results of which were canceled due to alleged Russian interference, has been detained in Romania. The politician's car was stopped on the road and he was then taken to the Prosecutor General's Office for questioning. Also arrested this morning were people from Georgescu's entourage who are suspected of a number of crimes, such as creating an organization of fascist, racist and xenophobic nature, as well as promoting the cult of people guilty of genocide or war crimes. According to the Romanian Prosecutor General's Office, there is a clear link between the financing of Georgescu's election campaign and Russia. An extensive network of fake accounts flooded TikTok with messages in support of Calin Georgescu during the presidential campaign. Romanian authorities believe that the network of propaganda bots was coordinated by the Russian Federation. 😀 Earlier, law enforcement officers found $10 million in cash and plane tickets to Moscow in an underground safe in the house of Georgescu's bodyguard. White head blue jacket and red pants - there is clearly some symbolism encoded in this outfit!

The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was making you think he was an organic social media response to current issues rather than an Islamist terror-linked propaganda network with command-and-control procedures, extensive coordination, and a content pipeline to Reddit, Inc. Rooted in the r/Palestine subreddit, the network launders terrorist messaging from Hamas, Hezbollah, and other US-designated terror groups into mainstream platforms—and Reddit is at the center of it. A web of radical activist moderators belonging to the network controls over 100 subreddits, including some of the largest non-political communities on the platform. This includes r/Documentaries (20M members) to r/PublicFreakout (4.7M) The network's activities extend deep into X Quora Wikipedia and other major platforms. Known as "data poisoning," this effort is aimed at manipulating search results, AI models, and online discourse at scale. #reddit Pirate Wires

Today, I was briefed by the FBI on a dangerous online network known as “764.” This group uses encrypted apps to engage in satanic sexual extortion targeting minors, and they are considered to be extremely dangerous. Parents: please stay aware of who your kids are talking to online. PROTECT YOUR KIDS!

Today, a group of Italian pro-Ukrainian activists staged a protest during a conference of pro-Russian propagandists taking place in Naples. They waited for two hours and then peacefully displayed their Ukrainian T-shirts and flags, even attempting to ask the professor chairing the conference some questions. Among the questions the professor refused to answer was why he was a guest at the RT festival in both Minsk and Moscow last October and November. Another of the conference's guests, when he was a member of parliament, met with the leaders of Putin's United Russia party and introduced several pro-Russian bills, such as one to withdraw Italy from NATO. Thanks to Matteo Hallissey, to all the activists, and Slava Ukraini 🇺🇦

An anonymously released Israeli propaganda video has circulated online, claiming to be a threat from Palestinians against the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The video features a man wearing the Palestinian Kuffiyeh, speaking in a poorly imitated accent that does not resemble that of Palestinians and messes up the annunciation of basic Arabic phrases. It has been widely mocked as an obvious Israeli propaganda video, yet managed to fool some online personalities who do not understand the Arabic language or dialects and failed to fact-check the source of the video.
