This has happened so many times. Uber drivers do not show up ,claiming stuck in the traffic and refusing to cancel. In fact, they were at one spot and not moving at all. They want you to pay for the cancellation fee and they can make money out of it.

I had the same happened to me I booked @Uber for my daughter & I saw the car was around corner on the next street & was there a while so I called & he said he’s dropping off another passenger, then when he finally came & finished the trip I got charged extra for waiting fees

If you are a driver you know this app tracks everything and you wont get the fee unless you are right where the pickup location is. It wont even start the clock unless you are right there

idk what cancellation fee you're talking about @WhartoniteWG but this isn't a thing in the UK, however if you got to cancel and rebook because no one is accepting the ride or maybe also in a situation like this where the driver doesn't unmatch then yeah you get pending charge 2x
