i saw u got into it a bit :3 part of the beauty of hobbies for me is how they come and go. i'll ride waves of motivation to practice a certain skill, have that fade for a bit, and then rediscover my love for it months later. but for something actionable, i think cooking is the best skill to talk about this through. it's something i had to do every day but also something i enjoyed as a hobby. and the way i kept it interesting for myself was always approaching it from different angles when i found myself getting bored. at first it was getting really into chef knives and knife skills, then i enjoyed trying really over the top recipes with a massive ingredient lists, then i got into different cuisines, followed different yt creators, tried learning different techniques, attempted to improvise, tried to make friends to talk about it with, cooked for different people, etc etc. usually there's quite a lot to explore within hobbies and multiple ways to approach them, and an active effort to think about your hobbies in a different way can stave off burnout and reinvigorate my interest in them. to be honest, i haven't stuck with many of my hobbies for long periods of time. pretty much everything that i've done has had hiatuses of months or years because of what i talked abt in the first paragraph. in the past i used to want to be the best the things i was into, but now i just enjoy my time with them and improve at my own pace and for the last question, laura is writing a video about aim training where she touches on the idea of seeing plateaus as an opportunity for growth that i think would be apt here: "I've found that the deepest kind of weakness identification comes from realizations prompted by plateaus. Picking out a mistake or absent element of your training revealing the missing piece that was preventing you from actually implementing your aim into games. You have to look at plateaus as a chance for growth instead of just a state you are currently in. I've had multiple of these over my time playing, long periods of stagnation into epiphanies into very dramatic improvements, very quickly." thank u for the thoughtful response chi!!

when i first got into kovaaks i DESPISED tracking and thought i was going to be bad at it forever because i was literally sub bronze while being gm static and i refused to play it for years because it felt genuinely impossible and now it is both my favorite and best category

and now u r the goat :3

i still n eedd u to teach me how to track better

i am still sub bronze .

we all know u would be astra tracking minimum if u opened kovaaks for more than 30 minutes a year

I swear you have so many hobbies and you learn so quick it’s insane, one day I’ll have that many hobbies

i don't think i learn that fast i just pick up a lot of hobbies i can practice idly at my desk haha

from a much more sober zemi,,, ur still so awesome and i lov u sm 💛💛🙏🏻🙏🏻 bless ur heart

<3

as impressive and motivating as ever,, hearing this i really just gotta start actually doing things since with the few things i didn't, i actually noticed decent growth and that i just don't have to overthink

This was really inspiring. Maybe I should pick up the guitar and run some static. (Also it's unfair that your voice is still that smooth going through what looks to be a little gopro)

🥺

i got into geoguessr recently and thought it was impossible now i can recognize some bollards and poles and have a good general idea of where i am i genuinely thought i was too stupid to remember these 😭

@enseialice_ ofc u did ... my fav meta knowledge was how almost every country uses a different crosswalk sign for some reason, and you start checking if the guy has like a belt or a hat LOL

realising that somehow these things are not standardised anywhere in the world has been fun ngl LOL

@ZemiAims ok we gotta take away twitter from u when ur drunk

that was me when I first started to learn TS and now im in the same boat with learning guitar hero. Sometimes u just gotta like grind it out and get the reps in to really understand that there isnt a cap on the skill

5 seconds in - "note to self, dont upset @pinguefied "

nah u are goated twin.

i cant join the gloving comm my ring finger and pinky finger move together

Sybil cut pog

learning it was my endgame goal when i first learned of cardistry, rly glad i did it but i did not realize how far down the skill progression it was LOL

Learning to solve a Rubik's cube vs getting below 20 seconds.

Thank you! This is good advice and I kinda needed to hear this too :D I've been trying to learn the guitar and given my small chubby hands it's been very hard to get some chord shapes right, but I have decided to persevere and make it work out for me.

goated

this is amazing but the shadow of the go pro is taking me out 😭😭

so when are u gonna pick up a skateboard and get added to the next tony hawk game since u somehow are goid at everything u touch 😭😭

i will literally die LOL

stop stop, you are making me want to buy a new balisong.

is that a go pro on ur head

yes

HOW THE HELL ARE YOU DOING THOSE MOVEMENTS

this is so real, u gotta learn to tank the early embarrassment of lack of skill to reach cool heights

Really appreciate this video, I will for sure take the lesson on board myself especially with aim training! Thanks goat 🐐

YOURE GAMBIT NOW???

Hey! I have a question: I bought myself a butterfly knife for Christmas (i take one from nibalis); half as a decoration, half to learn how to do “moves” with it. Are there any good channels or videos to learn from, knowing that I have very poor hand-eye coordination?

squid industries and big flips are the only ones i know who have made a pretty large library of solid tutorials, otherwise you'd have to know what tricks to look for here's some tricks i consider the fundamentals 1) basic open/close 2) thumb rollover 3) chaplin 4) fan 5) half twirl 6) basic/icepick aerial 8) wrist pass

Thank you, it's great to have that as a reference to start with!

pew pew knife!

good brand for these?

nabalis and ldy

how many times have you dropped your knife and cut yourself by accident ?

Cup stacking next 🫣

viscose is gonna want me dead with how much noise it makes LOL

True that is a bit loud. I’d love to see you pick up some disc golf. So many fun and intricate details about the disc it makes it kinda cool.

Riffle fan when?

gonna need some time to practice on this. Wow

U got it goat ❤️ then learn one handed tri-force
