An update on our safety initiatives.

We've heard many people say Facial Age Estimation estimated their age wrong or they were able to trick it... What happens when a kid manages to get in the 18+ age group, or a 30 year old gets in the 9-12 group? They're exclusively able to chat woth those groups. Then what?

A facial scan that doesn't work. Millions of people have said it got their ages wrong or could easily be tricked via fake images. You claim people "voluntary accepted" this when no, it was mandatory for most to be able to use BASIC ROBLOX FUNCTIONS

U also said face scans would be deleted immediately but after I did mine I seen people saying the company ur using have 4 lawsuits rn for selling images to 3rd party to train ai 💀

You had previous incidents where data was leaked to the public and now facial estimation where you claim that facial images are deleted but are instead used to train the ai by Persona. You are running out of time before more countries are restricting access to Roblox.

Bs. Didn't your CEO call predators an opportunity??? How about you ban the actual threats instead of little Timmy for saying "hi"

Corporate talk is easy. Showing real results is what actually matters.

Please reconsider how you're going to implement these safety features - If chat's only visible to certain similar age groups, there is nothing stopping a predator from verifying as a kid & being put directly into servers with them.

This update is not helping to make the platform safer. It is making it LESS safe due to how inaccurate your AI so often is at detecting ages. And it is taking away the careers of developers and content creators. This was covered in my latest video:

I already got the update because I'm from the Netherlands, but because no other country (except New Zealand, Australia and The Netherlands) has the update I can't chat with anyone. :/

Are we looking at the DOWN FALL of roblox??? I have been playing this game since 2016 and I have never been SO DISAPPOINTED IN ROBLOX

the only way to bypass this restriction (if somehow the ai gets it right), if for you to GIVE YOUR PHONE NUMBER to the other user. encouraging kids to give out personal info to chat with adults ! and better yet, trusted connections don't have filters in roblox dms. Fucking Genius

Roblox, you could have done better, we didn't ask for this, we asked for more moderators, better moderators. I still don't trust is 'FAE' thinge as because it is an AI and it may not be as safe as we expect it to be . but at the end of the day I don't see much advantages in this.

My young daughter was classified as 18+ by the age verification check, even though that's way older than her entered birthdate. Roblox support basically said too bad, nothing we can do.

I’m sorry, @Roblox, but segregating your users into age groups that predators can slink into by easily bypassing your age verification as well as forcing victims into arbitration in order to prevent them from telling their stories is the FURTHEST from the very concept of safety!

im 18, i look young, so i got my dad to do the face scan. for over a month i was marked as 18+, and just now i was notified that my age was changed to 52, put in the 21+ category, and my birthday is set to may 1 1973. can't change any of this without id btw. who greenlights ts...

I can't talk to my friends anymore because of this new ban because I'm australian, joining games feels empty. Do we seriously have to wait a month of playing as a guest before we can interact with friends again?

There’s still been no response as to how this is going to affect roleplay games and why the age groupings are done the way that they are… This is going to ruin entire dev studios if pushed out the way this is being advertised.
