My surgery went well yesterday - thank you everyone for all the kind words and prayers. I know this corner of ours means it when they say it. Lotta pain, but that's to be expected. Now lemme put a smile on your face: We've done this so many times with old shelter dogs, and the pattern is almost always the same - when they get here, they're usually nervous and quiet; unsure of what is in store and what their life is gonna be like. After being here with me, OBX Dog Walker and the rest of the dogs, they start to relax and be the dog they wanna be; the dog they were or could have been before they were abandoned. Molly was so quiet and reserved when we got her, and now? Yeah. She's right at home, letting me know I need to get off my ass and feed her. Love to see it. And I'm grateful to all of you.

There is a state park by me that closes when the sun goes down for safety reasons. I always see people find a way in there to do what they need to do. No matter what they do mayor be add a gate or even have more law enforcement, there’s no stopping it. These people are sitting in their car. They see people walking in and out of the woods while they are sitting there eating and chatting. The people going in and out look so out of place, like they are in a zombie apocalypse. If I saw people just struggling in and out of the woods, looking dirty, no flashlights at all. I would think they are up to something. Especially for the hikers making their way back and hearing rumbling and voices I would be creeped out too.

🫂Chef Khaled made his delicious yellow rice for the camp today, my friends, and people were very happy when they received their meals because it's a favorite for many. I wanted to tell you we are working daily to distribute food and water for the camp, and we do this even when I do not mention it in my updates. These poor people rely on us to help them survive, and we wish we could do more for them in these cruel and miserable times. It is awful to see the horrific pictures of people living in tents who have nothing to save them from a bomb or a fire. My heart breaks for the animals too, my friends, because they are also helpless and they are suffering terribly in these conditions. I want to help them, my friends, and I can do this only with your generosity and help. If you could, will you please consider donating and sharing my message? Honestly, something I’ve never seen at least after any Tennessee game, home or away…was the band marching out of the stadium like this. So many of us Vols fans didn’t care where they were going, but we were following them. Was literally having a parade through Gainesville last night. So few people can say they were actually in Gainesville when Tennessee won, and I’m now one of them. 1971, 2001, 2003, 2025…it’s sad those are the 4 most recent wins in Gainesville. But I can say I was there, and that’s all that matters to me.

I used to ask my New York friends Who were living in nyc check to check With a 80- 100k a year salary Why not move down south Where you can make that 100k Really feel like 100k And you can have a home a yard And more luxuries And they loved nyc so much that even though it made logical sense to move They would rather struggle And say “I live in NYC” Than ball and say I live in “Charlotte, Savannah, Charleston” Which would give them a better quality of life It took me a while to realize that The big city is so much a part of their identity Even if its pricing them out and has them living next to mice It’s so much apart of them that if they can’t say “I live in nyc” to someone who doesn’t They would lose part of their whole identity I say all that to say Chicago people are the same way

UPDATE: The individuals in the car in the rainbow bridge accident have been identified as Kurt and Monica Villani, a husband and wife. They were from Grand Island and WERE NOT Muslim terrorists like so many irresponsible people were claiming. Those who claimed that these people were terrorists or were of a certain religious background should apologize immediately. Those who use every situation to achieve a political narrative are a part of the divisive problem in this country.

This is not a Chinese family going on vacation with their dog. This is a dog likely bought from a wet market for meat. They have tied the poor animal to the back of their car and are driving on the highway as if he is just luggage. He has no idea what is waiting for him. That is what makes this so heartbreaking. This dog is still alive, still trusting, still innocent — and yet he is being treated with no care, no mercy, and no dignity. Dog meat eating is still a cruel reality in parts of China. Many of these dogs are stolen pets or helpless strays. No dog deserves this fate. Dogs are companions. They are not food.

In a new study from MIT and the University of Queensland, 272 international experts were asked to judge the biggest risks from AI between now and 2030. They concluded that 18 of the 24 risks they looked at each carry at least a 1 in 10 chance of a catastrophic outcome, which they defined as something that kills more than a million people or wipes out more than 100 billion dollars. The risks they worried about most were not science fiction robots. They were AI being used to build weapons, launch large scale cyberattacks, and concentrate power and money in very few hands. None of this is a prediction that it will happen. It is a measure of how seriously the field's own experts take the danger. And the numbers are not small.

If you want kids, have 2. And make sure they are 14-18 months a part. It’s a life hack Until they are both at least two, life will be hard. But once they are that age, throw them in the same room together. Encourage them to be best friends. And then watch as the fruit of your labor multiplies. I often just sit and watch their brains explode as they amuse themselves. Sometimes I sleep in and they are alone in the living room for a good hour by themselves. I’ve even come out before and they already fed themselves breakfast

( That Mvua Mdogo, you said ) In all the years since these houses were built in the early 80s, they have stood firm and never suffered such damage. They were built to last, and they have lasted, until now. The unplanned high-rises have been springing up all around our property for the past couple of years. Construction is happening beacon to beacon, without proper infrastructure, drainage, or consideration for existing homes. This reckless building is choking the systems that once worked, and now homes that survived four decades of Nairobi weather are being flooded. The video shared by a neighbour speaks for itself. Houses are flooded, tenants are distressed, and I now face a tenant who was meant to move in this month asking questions about safety. Who will compensate us? Who takes responsibility for the chaos caused by careless approvals and construction without planning for basic infrastructure?
