Mandy, It’s not humiliating, please don’t think that the staff are thinking anything bad about what has happened, please. I was peeing myself, the bed, the floor, couldn’t aim straight (story of my life) Couldn’t go to the loo at all, but had a very similar experience just before I was due to be discharged. It’s in our own head that we think anyone else would be concerned or feel disgusted with us - I promise they will not !! I had literally just been thinking about you, you keep popping up on people I might know on FB. In a bit, ask someone to help you have a wash and you will feel so much better. Thinking about you every day, please, chalk that experience up to something to pop in your next book sweetheart xx

Can't really help but thanks to my French wife I do know that the shits is "la chiasse", so maybe instead of "m'aidez" shout "depechez-vous, j'ai la chiasse immediatement". Don't worry about shitting the bed, we've all done it, and the nurses won't judge you.

Hi Mandy, we don’t know each other and I watched your video and wanted to reach out to you, keep talking and keep posting. Most people have shit the bed at one time in their lives and it so healthy for you to post like this, just human reaching out. Much love.

Wow Mandy! Just wow. To see someone as strong as you being so honest at this moment is a true testament to how STRONG you are. The light is the brightest on the darkest day, and your light is shining so bright. Much love and thoughts for your speedy recovery.

Oh Mandy, what a tough start to the day. There are a load of people rooting for you and hoping that each day brings a win or too, for a little lift. Take care

Its so awful Mandy, its like losing your dignity. I had similar after undergoing a very long open heart surgery. Once those painkillers wear off its anybody's bet. You have to remember the nurses are pros at this and see it every day. It doesn't help much in the moment but you will get through this and like me you will likely have a bit more compassion for those in this and similar situations.

Wow Mandy that sounds horrendous. I spent a bit of time in hospital recently and although I don't know what you're going through exactly I completely feel the isolation and loneliness and almost helpless feeling that hits you. Try to keep your chin up. This is only temporary

I shat & peed my bed in hospital one morning but everything can be cleaned up & changed behind the curtains & nurse told me docs more worried if nothing coming out hence senna & water jugs. Best wishes😀👍

Sending you lots of love ❤️ Sorry for your distress 😭

Mandy, my heart goes out to you & there but for the grace of God etc I so understand your personal distress, but can I confirm what others have said…no nurse will think any the worse of you. Your poor innards. Ask for help with a wash & brush up asap. You always look amazing btw!

You cannot help having an accident. Embarrassing for you yes, not for the nurses or care team in place, they deal with it everyday. The surgery you have had, is obviously something to keep you in bed and on a drip so it’s not easy to move. Just concentrate on getting better 💝

When on medication... Bowel movements come in 2s in the morning. Always have 2 bed pans. Keep your head up.

Top tip!!!!

My very best wishes to you. My late wife had a hysterectomy in a French hospital, and I’m not sure her treatment was much better. Hope you heal quickly.

Prayers and best wishes for you every day. You have such strength.

You are not destroyed, it’s only a pile of shit, shit happens. There’s worse. Bite the bullet and just accept staff, nurse’s are there ti help. They do a fantastic job and it’s a vocation for them. Not everybody can do it but it’s part of life. I won’t even go into Sandra. Xx

Dont fret it will get better

Oh bless you. What an awful experience for you. It's not your fault though Mandy, so try not to beat yourself up over it.

I’m so sorry, I really feel for you. I imagine the nurses have seen it all - but it’s horrible for you and especially so close to your operation. I just sent one of those bowel cancer screening tests to the NHS, I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to do so Wish you well xxx

I don't know you bit I wish you a speedy recovery. I'm so sorry you are experiencing this.

Sending you love and positive vibes from a Veteran Para family 🪂in UK 🇬🇧 My goodness , you’re obviously a very strong lady, just so sorry you’ve had this very distressing setback …. You will come through this , stay strong inside 🙏❤️🩹🙏😘😘

Sandra has lost all dignity, her arse has been seen by every man and his dog! She’s soldered on and in a far worse state than you, we love you and give you all Our hopes, you will recover, you are fit and there’s light at tge end of the tunnel! Xx

January 26. I called for a bedpan, they said they’d be 15 minutes, I couldn’t hold on. Pood the clean bedding, and myself. When the orderly arrived, I had to explain that she was too late. She didn’t bat an eyelid. Cleaned me up, changed the sheets. Next room someone had died 1/2

Since you were Tornado aircrew I'll attempt some harsh banter, in the hope that it might raise a wry smile... Man up, Hickson. It could be worse, you could have been a Nav!

he then experienced what ur experiencing, altho thank goodness u havent got sepsis-delirium. was discharged aftr x days & goes for scan tomorrow. I'm sure in time, once he's had scan & the shock of losing his independence (& mind 🫣) wears off, he'll be ok. wishing you better ✨

Sending strength and hugs your way🙏🩷

That’s why they were too busy to come to me, it puts it into perspective, trying to save a life, compared to having to clean up a patient who had pooped themselves. No biggy. 2/2

Oh dear. That’s very upsetting. Things will get better. Strength and love to you

We've all shat ourselves, a necessary part of life, and this wasn't your last time. God bless you!

Oh bless your heart 💔 I’m a nurse and am so grateful to hear of your raw experience.. It really is something that you have to go through yourself to truly appreciate.. Thank You Mandy xoxo

I'm so so sorry you're having such a terrible time. Sending you lots of love and strength. xx

Big hugs Mandy

🙏🇮🇪

😢😢😢😢

Mandy, this was my dad couple of weeks ago (basically realising he's at the mercy of his health & 'the system') he's in his 70's & vproud. he had sepsis/sepsis-induced delirium. at one pt he yanked the drip out of his arm, pulled the IV bag off the pole & DRANK the contents 1/2

Really sorry to hear that 😢
