𝐏𝐈𝐓𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐑 𝐒𝐏𝐎𝐓𝐋𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓 𝚙𝚛𝚎𝚜𝚎𝚗𝚝𝚎𝚍 𝚋𝚢 True Pitch Mounds Saydel’s Brady Hicks (2027, Prep Baseball Uncommitted) already has an impressive pedigree. The now six-foot-five right-hander has already experienced the Junior Future Games (2023) and Super Sophomore Games (2024), and if all goes well this spring, he should be in consideration for this year’s Future Games team. Ranked 3rd in the state and 192nd nationally, Hicks has a frame that oozes projection with a quick, compact arm stroke into a three-quarter slot. He hides the ball well and has the arm speed that allows his fastball to get on hitters quickly. Some of his heaters run arm-side more than others, and the ones that do give right-handed hitters issues. The fastball has been up to 88.8 MPH on Trackman, and we saw that velocity upheld in-game during the fall tournament circuit. Hicks’ low-80s slider is a swing-and-miss weapon with late movement, and the two pitches are a strong foundation. This past summer Hicks paced all freshman arms with 95 strikeouts (24th among all pitchers) in 65.1 innings pitched. The 95 strikeouts from a freshman pitcher was the most since Blaine Harpenau’s 101 total in the 2017-2018 season. Overall, Hicks made 11 starts for the Eagles and went 6-2 with a 1.39 ERA and a .177 batting average allowed. Big things are ahead for this young arm. More on Brady ⤵️

Brett Wichrowski Brett Wichrowski Acquired: 2023 13th round selection Measurables: 6’2”, 177 lbs, 21 years old Cliff Notes: The Brewers picked the Junior out of Bryant who had steadily improved over his NCAA career last year. By his junior campaign, Wichrowski posted a 4.50 ERA and 64 Ks/25 BBs in 50 innings pitched. He also has steadily added velocity in his offseasons (with Baseball Performance Center), which he showed off in the Spring Breakout series sitting 99 mph. In the Spring Breakout game he went 2 IP with zero earned & one strikeout plus in his outing in Big League Camp he went one scoreless, facing three batters with a K. His mix appears to have a 4-seam and 2-seam fastball with secondary offerings of a cutter, slider, and change-up. All look relatively effective playing off his fastballs, with the cutter jumping out of his hand and slider/change-up being effective enough off of his velocity. With his experience in NCAA baseball, the New England Collegiate Baseball League and the Cape Cod League, I would not be surprised if the Brewers start him in at least A ball. Wichrowski played three seasons at Bryant where he progressed as one would expect. His sophomore campaign was across 38 innings where he posted a 5.21 ERA, 37 Ks, and a high 30 BBs. His Junior season he demonstrated serious improvements, giving up less earned runs on average as well as upping his K rate while decreasing his BB rate. He rode that good season into being a Brewers Draft Pick. I look forward to seeing how the Brewers deploy the righty in the minors. As mentioned above, in the Spring Breakout game he was topping out at 99 mph. He uses that speed when throwing both of his fastballs, while his cutter is about 10 mph slower and effectively horizontally cuts due to his excellent extension. His slider is another nice option for glove-side movement, while he continues to work on his change up. His college walk rates/WHIP are something that are of concern, but more time in the Brewers organization should help him control his offerings better. His multiple plus offerings give Wichrowski a great chance to be an MLB contributor as long as he can improve control (which he showed in his Spring Breakout & Spring Training outings) He is definitely a guy to keep an eye on in 2024 and I could see him gaining transaction on some prospect lists. 🚨BREAKING: Nationwide outrage is exploding after a known violent career criminal with a lengthy rap sheet killed 21-year-old U.S. Marine Lance Corporal Daniel Montano in a brutal stabbing in downtown Wilmington, North Carolina. Daniel Montano, a 21-year-old Marine assigned to the 1st Battalion, 2nd Marines at Camp Lejeune, was in the Wilmington area when the incident occurred around 2:00 AM on Sunday, April 5th (Easter weekend). According to police reports, officers responded to multiple fights in the 100 block of North Front Street. Montano was stabbed in the neck during the chaos and suffered fatal injuries. Despite emergency medical efforts, he was pronounced dead at the hospital. Another person was also injured in the same disturbance, while a separate unrelated stabbing was reported in the area that night. The suspect, Davy Spencer, a 47-year-old Wilmington resident, was arrested after a five-day investigation. He now faces charges including second-degree murder and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. Spencer has an extensive criminal history that includes multiple felonies and violent offenses. He was previously designated a habitual felon in 2015–2016 after convictions for cocaine and heroin trafficking, for which he served approximately 117 months in prison. Despite this long record, he was back on the streets — raising serious questions about repeated releases by judges and the justice system. A memorial has been set up at the corner of Front and Princess streets with American flags, and the Montano family has launched a fundraiser to cover funeral expenses. This tragic killing has sparked widespread public anger, with many pointing to failures in the criminal justice system that allow repeat violent offenders to remain free. What do you think? Should the bail and sentencing system be significantly reformed to keep violent career criminals with long records locked up — especially those with dozens of prior charges? Or is the problem deeper, involving broader issues like drug policy, urban crime, and judicial accountability? Feel free to share your thoughts and let’s discuss it openly and honestly.

1B Tanner Thach (UNCW Baseball) is another college bat to keep close tabs on this season. Thach was drafted by the Giants in the 18th round of the 2022 draft but decided to honor his commitment to the Seahawks. Thach made a significant impact in his first year on campus and posted a .290/.356/.544 slash line with 11 2B, 15 HR—a UNCW single-season freshman record—and 68 RBIs. He outdid himself in 2024 and hit .324/.406/.700 with 11 2B, a UNCW single-season record 27 HR and 75 RBIs in 61 games. Thach’s production didn’t end there, though, as he was named a Cape League all-star, hitting .275/.367/.493 with 6 doubles, 8 HR and 25 RBIs. Thach has a strong, physical build at 6’4” and 220-lbs. He has a crouched stance in the box with an open front side and a medium-high handset. It’s a bit of a noisy load in which he drops and drifts his hands, but Thach does possess plenty of bat speed. He has a steep, uphill swing path, and it’s a violent operation that is geared towards getting the ball up in the air and doing damage. However, it can get long at times. Thach’s carrying tool is undoubtedly his immense power. He has established a now-lengthy track record of power production with both metal and wood, and he has zero issue tapping into it on a game-to-game basis. Thach has home run power to all fields, though his highest quality of contact comes to the pull side. He gets the ball up in the air on a consistent basis, and when he catches the baseball on the sweet spot, it flies. Thach posted maximum exit velocities during the spring and summer of 113.5 mph and 103.1 mph, respectively. At the start of the summer, he would sometimes unnecessarily sell out to get to his power which caused him to top-spin line drives to the pull side, but as the season progressed he was able to break that habit. Thach has plus in-game power to all fields. The biggest key going forward for Thach is for him to continue to make enough contact to get to his power on a regular basis. His bat-to-ball skills are fringy, though he did post a 90% in-zone contact rate against all fastballs. Like a lot of hitters, the root of Thach’s contact struggles are secondary offerings. He’ll have difficulty at times picking up spin out of the hand which leads to both miss and chase. Thach will also tend to whiff and chase against heaters that are either elevated or on the outer-half of the plate. However, he does handle velocity well and last season he hit .533/.588/1.033 against all fastballs 92+. While Thach feasts on righthanded pitching, he hit just .246/.321/.551 last season against lefties. Thach’s power is tremendous, but he’ll need to add a coat or two of polish to his hit-ability as he transitions into professional baseball. First base isn’t the flashiest defensive profile, but Thach moves well around the bag and is a strong athlete at the position. He’s not afraid to range into the four-hole and he is a reassuring anchor on the right side of the infield. Thach has an advanced baseball sense, a trait that shines on a game-to-game basis. While he won’t pitch professionally, expect Thach to log some innings this spring for UNCW. His fastball tops out in the low 90s and flashes some hop in the top of the zone, but he’ll also mix in a mid-70s curveball and a low-80s changeup. The cherry on top with Thach is his makeup, both on and off the field. It’s impossible to stick a grade on it because it’s a 90 on the 20-80 scale. Would have him as a 2nd-early 3rd round type this July. (🎥: UNCW Baseball, Cotuit Kettleers)

Congrats to Ryan Ward for having his contract selected and being placed on the Dodgers' 40 Man Roster. Wardo was awarded as the Most Valuable Player in the PCL this past season after hitting .290, with an OPS of .937. He posted a WRC+ of 132, and his 36 home runs led ALL of the Minor Leagues During this season he also became the ALL-TIME home runs leader (90) and RBIs (318) in the history of the Bricktown Ballpark Era for OKC baseball. On a personal note, I've been going to AAA OKC games since 1975. That dates back to All-Sports stadium, and 6 different affiliation changes, 5 of which have been in my lifetime, and that I remember VERY well. So, to see this with my own eyes was truly historical on a personal level for me as well. #89ERS And, to have it happen in the first year of the new branding was a real "page turner" of OKC baseball, so that's SUPER cool too. Ward also drove in 122 runs, which is the most of ANY player in the PCL since 2010, and racked up the most total bases (315) of any player in the PCL since 2001. Ward also set single-season records for the Bricktown era in hits (164), runs (113), and RBIs (122). As per his defense... His outfield play has gotten better and better as each year has passed, and, while his bat will likely always be the"show stealer", he is a good athlete and has become a very solid outfielder. He can also play 1st base, and dabbled in a touch of 2nd base while at Bryant Baseball Speaking of Bryant, he's the only Bulldog ever to hit over .400 for a single season, and he struck out just 1 time his senior Season at Millbury, so the "hit tool" is NOT a new thing for him. As an aside, he graduated with fewer than 100 kids in his High School, and he is not shy to show pride in his "small town" work ethic. With all the home runs over the fence, his highlight of last year was an at-bat where he kept the ball IN the park. Wardo knocked an INSIDE-the-park WALKOFF home run back at the beginning of May. Congrats, Wardo, I could type ALL DAY about this dude, but that will do it for NOW. #dodgers

🔱 Dominic Canzone Long Post 🔱 When the Mariners acquired Canzone last month in exchange for Paul Sewald, most people had never really heard of him. He wasn’t a top prospect and he wasn’t lighting the world on fire. Here’s a quick recap on his numbers with Triple-A Reno this season: .354 AVG, .431 OBP, .634 SLG, 13.2 K% 12.8 BB%, .449 wOBA, 16 HR, 150 wRC+ Canzone never had a wRC+ lower than 107 at any stop in the minor leagues and for his entire minor league career, he had a .933 OPS with a wRC+ of 134. He can hit. Of course, minor league numbers ultimately mean next to nothing once you get to the major leagues. Arizona called him up in July and started playing nearly every day, mostly as a platoon bat. Here are his numbers as a Diamondback: .237 AVG, .293 OBP, .368 SLG, 19.5 K% 4.9 BB%, .290 wOBA, 1 HR, 80 wRC+ Not all that great, and that’s what most people saw when Seattle acquired him for their star reliever. Here were his expected stats: .283 AVG, .336 OBP, .476 SLG .353 xwOBA, 90.3 MPH Average Exit Velo That .353 xwOBA is better than Justin Turner, Josh Naylor, Francisco Lindor, Jake Burger, and many other players. When Canzone arrived to Seattle, he struggled in his first 20 plate appearances and his expected numbers weren’t much better either. His average exit velocity in this stretch was 85.2 MPH. His K% hit 20%, which Canzone had only had 2 lengthy stops in the minors where his K% was 20%. People were frustrated at the lack of production from Canzone (and Rojas). Ever since that slow stretch, in where he’s accrued 50 plate appearances, his stats: .283 AVG, .340 OBP, .478 SLG, 12.0 K% 8.0 BB%, .352 wOBA, 2 HR, 129 wRC+ These numbers are very similar to his expected numbers when he was with Arizona. Here’s the best part: his expected stats during this stretch are MUCH better. .329 AVG, .382 OBP, .598 SLG .418 xwOBA, 90.2 MPH Average Exit Velo That .418 xwOBA, if had over a full season, would rank 6th in all of baseball behind Aaron Judge, Ronald Acuna Jr., Corey Seager, Shohei Ohtani, and Yordan Alvarez. Obviously the samples on all of these stretches aren’t the biggest, but Canzone is a hitter. He’s hit everywhere he’s been and his underlying numbers have backed it up, outside of a short slump once he arrived to the Mariners. Many people didn’t give Canzone a chance when he first got here because of who we gave up to get him. People labeled him a “AAAA hitter” before seeing him. Time will tell what Canzone ends up becoming, but his future looks bright. Enjoy this Dominic Canzone moonshot.

EXCLUSIVE🚨 WHAT NICHOLAS HULCHER JUST REVEALED IS EARTH-SHAKING AND SHOCKING. I sat down with epidemiologist Nicholas Hulcher, H5N1 expert and senior researcher at the McCullough Foundation — and what he revealed is nothing short of explosive. Nicholas laid out new peer-reviewed data showing that 86% of early PCR “COVID cases” in Germany were false positives. The entire foundation of lockdowns, mandates and fear-driven policies now appears built on fraud. He also broke exclusive new findings on vaccine-induced kidney damage, a 20% rise in all-cause mortality, and a South Korean study of 51 million people revealing strong evidence of VAIDS — vaccine-acquired immunodeficiency syndrome. Most shocking of all: His lab has now discovered Pfizer mRNA fragments still in a patient’s exosomes 3.6 years after injection, along with genomic integration in a woman who developed aggressive cancer. This means the genetic material may persist, replicate, and possibly pass to future generations. He warned that the data now indicates population-level impacts — collapsing fertility, soaring infant mortality, and immune system collapse among the heavily vaccinated. And despite all of this, the shots are still being pushed on infants and children. Nicholas also confirmed that shedding is real, with evidence of unvaccinated individuals being affected simply by close contact. His message was clear: This was not a mistake. This was a global operation that must be investigated, exposed, and prosecuted. He believes there must be military-style tribunals, full legal accountability, and an immediate end to all mRNA technology — including the new self-amplifying mRNA already being tested on animals. But he also gave hope: There are ways to help the body break down the spike protein, and his foundation is actively researching how to remove the embedded genetic material and heal those affected. His closing message to the world: Do not give up. Share the data. Spread the truth. And push back — peacefully, relentlessly, and immediately. This interview is one of the most important we've ever done. Stay alert. Stay informed. Stay free. Nicolas Hulscher, MPH

RHP Matt Scott (Stanford Baseball) is one of the premier college arms in this year's Draft. After a solid Freshman season that was split between the bullpen and the rotation, Scott this year anchored the Stanford rotation and collected a career-high 103 strikeouts against 36 walks across 80 innings. Earned a Team USA invite for the second straight summer. Scott has an XL, workhorse frame at 6-foot-7 and 247-pounds with plenty of strength and physicality throughout. Quiet, "checkpoint-like" delivery. Small side step towards 1B side, gathers himself and breaks into the rest of his operation. Attacks from a high-three quarter slot. Low effort, does a nice job of staying connected and in-sync for someone of his stature. FB sits in the 93-96 range, but will routinely touch 97/98. Tons of carry through the zone, averaged 22.5" of IVB last year. At its best when located in the top-1/2 of the zone, which is also where it generates most of its whiffs. Just needs to stay out of the middle. Threw it 62% of the time and generated a pretty impressive miss rate of 26%, though I think it can become even more effective if he's able to hone in on his command of it. 55 pitch right now, eventual 60 if some of the low hanging fruit is cleaned up. Supplements his FB with a mid-to-upper-80s gyro SL. I actually think Scott's feel for the SL is on par, if not better, than his feel for the heater. Effective against both right and lefthanded hitters. True, hard gyro look against LHH. Will flash more two-plane tilt against RHH with some sharpness to it. Another 55 pitch that last year had a 40% miss rate. Scott needs to up the usage on his split-change. Threw it just 6% of the time last year and I think it's his best secondary pitch. Legit weapon against LHH. Averaged nearly 12 MPH off his FB and he does an excellent job of killing spin on it; averaged 866 RPMs last season. Essentially falls off a table as it approaches the plate. Serious tumbling life with a bit of arm side fade. 48% miss across a limited sample in '24, I'd give it a 60. Command and control are both average, if not a tick above. Little-to-no reliever risk. Really like the body and stuff. Projects to be one of the first few college arms off the board this July and is a potential first-rounder.
