🇺🇦🛡 I came to bid farewell to my cousin Pylyp Gogol in Pidhorodne (a suburb of Dnipro), who died defending Ukraine. He was 25. He was a grenadier in the 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade Magura and was killed in May 2024 near Ocheretyne, Donetsk Oblast. For nearly two years, he was considered missing, but his body was returned during a swap of bodies in 2025, and a recent DNA test confirmed a match with his mother (my aunt). He could have completed his education, started a family, and opened his own business, but Russia killed him. The scale of this tragedy lies in the fact that we have lost thousands of our finest people – the cream of the nation.

I had pulled my Nexon over to the side of the road for a tea break and was moving slowly along the shoulder when a lorry came from behind and hit me. When I confronted the lorry driver, he claimed he hadn’t even touched, But my dash-cam had captured everything. After we reviewed the footage, he apologised. Even so, I refused to let him leave until the police arrived, because in his drunken state he could have caused another accident. He had been driving all night without rest while intoxicated. The police arrived and took both the lorry and the driver into custody. The incident occurred on the Hatti–Gudur Bhaba stretch of the Raichur-to-Gulbarga road.
