I can finally announce the project I've been working on with Joce ! Fondant is building a new app that brings avatars and vtubing to Web. Multiplayer lobbies for vtuber streamer collabs or just hangouts with friends, as well as character customization tools building up to a full creator. We are using a WebGL and WebGPU techstack, so part of the point is to provide a cross-platform alternative to the current Unity based app ecosystem, and also to build tools that people can use to create or modify characters without going through a DCC (Blender, Maya, etc). For now we're starting with the basics: multiplayer lobbies, VRM support, and some tools like merging accessories into existing VRMs in the quoted post, and transferring Custom Vertex Normals from proxy meshes. My role is stylized shaders and procedural character creation. I've been working on NPR Shaders and tools to help build and customize 3D anime characters in Blender for years. With WebGPU, we can bring it into Web. My hope is to build a full character customization system for the Web with next gen toon shaders, and also a matching set of tools in Blender for serious content creators. But it is early days still, and there's a lot to be done! Here's the latest WIP of the rig for fitting proxy meshes to new faces.

In Ananta, cars could have a gacha system. Just like some skins. Remember that everything is subject to change and this post is only informative. Recently, it was discovered that Ananta, the "non-gacha game," has gacha for outfit skins, but now it also has gacha for cars. At what point can something still be considered a non-gacha game when it actually has gachas? Well, I hope there will be more options, both F2P and paid, across the different systems. Obviously, the game has to sustain itself somehow, but calling it non-gacha? Luckily, all characters will be free, and that's actually really good. This is the opening section of the Brahms clarinet sonata in F minor. Here you get the themes of the first movement. Chamber music is nice and interesting because you hear instruments like the clarinet in their full glory - not just as a component of the orchestra, drowned out by strings. Different instruments can hit the f minor pitch, but they all do it with their own timbre - that’s the individuality of the instrument, and you get to experience that in works like this. And someone like Brahms can work out smaller ideas with just a piano and clarinet that he might use later in larger symphonic works. It’s a more intimate form of music because it’s going to be played in a smaller room with fewer listeners, but also because the composer might be trying out something out that isn’t necessarily ready for the big stage. This is the closest Game we have to compare to GTA VI in terms of Open-World Gameplay. This Matrix: Awakens footage was recorded on Xbox Series X and as you can see the FPS is struggling to stay above 30FPS. The resolution also takes a big hit when you start moving the camera too fast because of so much processing happening at the same time. Considering GTA 6 has probably 10X times the mechanics of NPCs behavior going on and physics that are miles ahead of this game, it's safe to say that a performance mode is going to be near impossible in a PS5/Xbox Series X and S Version. Perhaps when PS5 Pro launches we will get a 60FPS mode, but things are looking rough right now.
