Ancient Japanese Origami will impact how we pack for space. It is quite beautiful how the past influences the future.

One of my longtime friends does this specifically for space projects. He actually designed the Starshade origami deployment crease pattern years ago. Singlehandedly at that. It's how he got involved with the field in the first place. He just simply wrote into JPL with a solution to their Starshade deployment problem.
