Pensioners deserve dignity and financial security in retirement. Today, I led a debate in Parliament on the importance of securing a fair deal for our pensioners, and highlighted important contributions from Silver Voices about the impact of taxing the state pension. We know that pensioners face additional costs, such as higher heating bills. They have worked hard for decades, and many have served our country. We must do all we can to support them in retirement.

Well through your NJ electric bills! Starting July 1st 2027, a "minimum" of $60M will be collected via the societal benefits charges or SBC Might be asking yourself, what's an SBC? When first digging into why our bills were so high in February this year I had no idea, but They are hidden charges in your electric bills to pay for mostly pet projects The Board of Public Utilities or BPU, recommends the SBC funding level for 2025 to be?......anyone here know? It's over $344M per year in our NJ electric bills Why don't we go over a few these programs, Ever Heard of Charge Up New Jersey? It's a program that gives folks up to $4,250 dollars for buying Electric Vehicles and chargers. This is costing NJ residents over $30 million dollars a year in their electric bills How about 'It Pay$ to Plug In', this program has spent $100M since 2012 on EV chargers in your electric Bill! This program cost ratepayers $27M this year alone as an SBC Per year Electric Vehicle Programs total $82.5M, Clean Energy Equity costs us $16.6M, NJ Wind total $22M and Energy Storage is currently costing the rate payers $29.5M per year, just to stress again this bill your voting on today will jump it up to $60M a year at a minimum! Today I almost got removed from the N.H. House Chamber for trying to stop House Republicans from disrespecting the founding principles of our democracy. First they limited debate. Then they adjourned session at 9 PM (after telling us we would be there until 4 AM) in order to prevent any possibility of voting on Democrat-sponsored bills. NH House Republicans do not give a shit about you. They only wanted to get through their bills as fast as possible so they could go home early. And now there is a slim chance any of our bills will even be voted on. I’m pissed. You should be too. #nhpolitics #nh01 #newhampshire #congress #vote
