weaving on a straight is not considered to be something you should do, and can be penalised as well, but then the driver can argue that it was to break the slipstream, as the guy in the video points out as well

@maxvverses Lando done the same move on Piastri in Canada and crashed into the back of him, fair enough if the Stewards thought Yuki was moving too much defending but Lando put himself in that position to overtake off the track and should have received a penalty

@maxvverses You cannot really present an analysis with stills! I would assert that video footage puts a more accurate spin on things, particularly in relation to breaking the tow, arguably Lando was not at a safe distance (for continued weaving) immediately prior to the overtake.

@maxvverses This analysis is wrong Yuki moves right then Left then back to the right, Lando commits to the inside and Yuki wasn’t expecting it and makes a sharp motion to the left, dangerous and reckless. As noted by the stewards Lando gained no advantage being off track.

@maxvverses What he fails to judge is that Yuki never actually committed to the inside. The moment Lando made the move was when Yuki weaved towards the right, opening up the space on the left. He’s clearly in the wrong here. Also not taking into account the massive speed difference.

@maxvverses The rules he states are only about corners and specifically apexes of corners, not straights. Yuki forced Lando off with his positioning and that mitigated any penalty Lando would have got for this.
