My Dad had a #VauxhallChevetteVan and he absolutely loved it. Took me for 1..that's ONE...driving lesson in it 😂

I think he drove it more in reverse than forward!

Great cars, simple, solid and reliable. A true GM global car success story. Dad had the Opel version, which I would drive, it had a better engine and probably better build quality too. Thing I remember, in common with all cars of that era, was rust, which led to premature death🤣

My dad bought one , the brick red type colour one RCV 51Y , I quite liked it.

My first car was a 1982 4-door bronze chevette - cost me £360 from the auction in 1989. Everything was easy to replace - 2 windscreens, radiator, brake discs and front wing and by then the headlights were sealed beam units. Simple cars in those days!

As Don McLean sang ... Drove my Chevy to the levee, but the levee was dry. And them good ole boys were drinking whiskey and rye, singing that'll be the day that I die ... 🤣🤣🤣

One of my babysitters had one of these c.1986. silver too. I did like them. Interesting that the indicator and windscreen wiper stick hadn't yet swapped sides in 1974. And £1,700 new - pffft! Those were the days!
