He’s doing the worst possible thing by rubbing the eye. If a piece of glass is stuck there, rubbing it will force the glass to move, possibly doing more damage. What he should have done instead is rinse with water, if he’s lucky the glass is stuck deep and water could dislodge it. Better yet, head to emergency care with the eye closed immediately
