this movie was so bad but the promotion had my ass SAT in the theatres im ngl

SAME i was so obsessed with the marketing. most of the ads were very effective, esp the first trailer with the girl in that red room and then all the audience reaction ones. and i loved the smells like teen spirit cover, all the charlie charlie spirit/game lore, all my fav youtubers went through a haunted house for it, etc like they GOT my ass in a seat. i also just loved the story of how it was originally filmed in 2011 on a $1000 budget with the same cast, to be released as an independent student film, but blumhouse saw that version and wanted to pick it up so they gave them $100k to reshoot the whole thing. so the cast worked together for like 4 years on it. i know the original version, which is full movie length, was on the dvd’s special features and i always wanted to watch it

I WANNA WATCH THE ORIGINAL CUT SO BAD!!!!!!! i always debated buying the dvd for that reason. and yeah i remember it still being entertaining, i’ll have to rewatch soon
