It doesn’t make sense to do that with a country of 10 million people. But they’ve got that in the NDAA. I’m told that’s not coming up this week, but we know it’s going to come up sometime—probably soon. So I’ve offered an amendment to strip Section 219—it was called Section 224—from that bill.

The proposal in NDAA Section 224 to further integrate the U.S. and Israeli militaries would be an extraordinary step for active-duty service members. It threatens American sovereignty by reducing the ability of elected officials to independently set U.S. foreign and defense policy, while making Israeli interests a more permanent part of America’s military decision-making process. At a time when voters are increasingly questioning the U.S.-Israel relationship, Congress appears poised to make that alliance even more deeply embedded and far more difficult to unwind in the future. Why is Congress pushing this measure, and what would its long-term consequences be for American policy and military independence? I discuss this and more with Col. Douglas Macgregor.

That place doesn't have a voting member of the congress.. And when I visited, when we had the 100 year commemoration, there was not a great lot of enthusiasm about the way the U.S. Is handling that.

Granting Israel expanded access to American technology and requiring the U.S. military to incorporate Israeli defense systems into critical parts of its own supply chain, giving Israel significant leverage over America’s defense priorities and long-term military planning.
