Was This a Stonewall Penalty? Breaking Down Khusanov’s Challenge on João Pedro The Positioning: Joao Pedro is in full control of the ball, driving into the Manchester City penalty box. Rather than trailing behind, Khusanov has actually recovered enough ground to get alongside and slightly ahead of Joao Pedro. Khusanov is cutting across Pedro's running path to get his body between the attacker and the ball. The Contact: In this exact moment, Khusanov is not pushing Joao Pedro in the back. Instead, Khusanov is leaning his body weight leftwards into Joao Pedro to shield the ball. It is actually Joao Pedro who has his left arm extended with his hand resting on Khusanov's back/shoulder area as they battle for position. In football, a defender is allowed to step across an attacker and use their body to shield the ball once they have established position, provided it is within playing distance of the ball. Since Khusanov is using his body to block the run and it's shoulder-to-shoulder (with Pedro's hand on him), this changes the dynamic completely from a "push." Looking at this specific angle, it looks much more like a standard physical battle where the defender successfully "boxes out" the attacker. Because Khusanov uses his body positioning legally to ease Pedro off the ball rather than illegally shoving him from behind, the referee’s decision not to award a penalty is the correct one.

I'm in LA, actor was in London & shoot was in Iceland so getting the costume fitting was a new challenge. We had our actor Lee Wakefield get his head & body scanned in London & we used the scan to design the costume to fit him & a 3d print of his head to check the fit. It fit.

Penalty decision bang on - hands away from his body, and unlike the Scales one in the first half, he had enough time to move his hands/not put them in that position.

Former Army OL Lucas Scott is showing his versatility & attempting to make the 53 as a Fullback for the Ravens. Very Pat Ricard-esque as far as body type. Thought he had a good debut last night. Good patience & ability to target in space. #LongLiveTheFullback🏴‍☠️

A casual 750 pound / 340kg squat… Notice how he takes a big breath, braces his body - pauses - and then begins his squat descent. Don’t rush the start. Begin well & put yourself in a position to end well.

A Palestinian father dared to defend his son from #Israel's IDF last night. So, they shot him in the chest & at gun point, prevented neighbors from helping him. IDF held his body until he bled to death, then detained his son! Samir Aslan, the 3rd Palestinian killed in 24 hours!

I encourage attackers to drive at the hips of defenders for a few reason; — 1v1 is a duel of footwork (momentum) & angles, the avenue to space is through an angle which can disrupt the opponent’s footwork (momentum) — It offers big-space players a reference to be successful in small spaces — Directly confronting the defender (driving/touching the ball towards their hips [centre]) means you’re moving into their ‘personal space’, which naturally makes humans uncomfortable, increasing the probability for the defender to make an impulsive reaction to your action. • We know Garnacho’s relationship with the ball isn’t watertight, a consequence of his narrow footwork, which reflects in his dribbling & shooting actions —> more specifically, his inability to make many multi-directional touches in his stride + his loose connections with the ball. Because of this he’s more likely to pose threat in bigger spaces, as he’s a willing goal-getter & has fair speed, but struggles to manufacture big enough space for his key actions when the opponents congest space deeper. • What trumps all of this is Garnacho lacking methodology in his dribbling, which would help him maximise his strengths & minamise the affect of his weaknesses. Garnacho drives towards the goal with the intention to cut inside and open an angle on his strong foot, but this angle of approach keeps the defender parallel to the ball (good momentum & maintain footwork) and closer to the space inside that Garnacho wants to take If he had driven at the hips (squared his man up) he could’ve; = pushed the opponent’s momentum onto back foot = reduced the need for sharp COD touches to access the inside angle (his weak point) & maintain his own momentum = kept open bigger space either side of him If you want big space, you have to make it. Targetting the defender’s central point within their personal space can support this.

Haaland preparing the best conditions for himself: •Manipulating Konate by constantly threatening his blindside. •Times his “step in front” as Semenyo meets the ball; less time for Konate to react. •Duel is already won when he separated with his arms.
