Andy Burnham said he’d stop Labour’s attack on jury trials. They’re an ancient English right dating back to Magna Carta. It’s quite clear he’s going to break that promise - and the Justice Secretary doesn’t know what to do.

You need to change the question and start asking why Labour and the civil service want to SCRAP these jury trials. Keir Starmer, David Lammy and now Andy Burnham advocated for jury trials until they became key Cabinet ministers — so whats changed? Is a trial coming up that will be disastrous for the civil service or Labour the main driver? Who, what and where is the key to this. You don’t change your mid on our right to a jury trial after being an ardent advocate for them unless there’s a reason. Find the court case, find the cover up and expose it.

Labour promised to smash the gangs protect the children but what do they do? Protect the red gangs for a block vote then lecture the world on democracy international law human rights?

Jury trials aren’t based on facts, they’re based on narrative and emotions. People serving on juries don’t have enough experience and knowledge of the law to decide someone’s fate. We see people getting unfair sentences because of lots of reasons.. Singapore Leader Lee Kuan Yew abolished jury trials as he found everyday jurors were too easily swayed by emotions, race, religion, sex or their prejudice against people rather than facts.. It’s 2026 not 1215, it’s time to move on
